As a marble collector, this is one of the most informative books I own on the subject! If a person is just starting to collect marbles, this is the book they need in my opinion!

5.0 out of 5 stars Put it on you "must have" list.

If you want to know more than just how pretty your marbles are, you need this book. Become knowledgeable about the companies and men who made your marbles. Helpful in identifying marbles, but no book can give you what years of experience collecting will give you. Reviewed by the author of the book "L. E. Alley 'Father of West Virginia Swirls' & Maker of Fine Tableware" about Alley Agate Co. marbles and toy dishes as well as L. E. Alley's 50 years in the glass industry.

4.0 out of 5 stars For the Collector, Not Necessarily Identification

A.C. · June 16, 2022

This book is for the COLLECTOR as it specifies on the cover. Make that the serious collector. The author provides a lot of detail about each of the mass produced machine made marble companies also providing many pics giving a great overall history of such companies. The majority of pictures of the marbles are those in original packaging and NOT individual photos for what I would consider, identification purposes. While there is some information about what types each of the companies produced, there isn’t a lot of info if wishing to know what you might have. This book is definitely for those who really are or want to dive into everything about marbles instead of someone like me who likes marbles and just wanted to learn more about the types and details about patterns.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book.
