I bought this book because I have a very fragile textile that I want to stabilize for framing. A second edition, it is an extremely thorough presentation of ethical considerations, appropriate techniques and equipment needed for treating a wide range of textiles and case studies that illustrate the development of treatment plans, the conservation itself and retrospective consideration. Although the user must be familiar with some chemistry and it would be helpful to have had some training in conservation beforehand, the text is clearly written and easy to understand.
