I have been using this to homeschool a 6 year old, and it has been fantastic. I needed something inexpensive since she will only be with me for a limited time, but I have been impressed with what this book offers. For $10 you cannot beat it! It has activity suggestions, library book reading lists, and a great deal more. You could easily use this for a full grade 1 science curriculum, a co-op, or for a fun summer activity. I think it is super for a new homeschooler on a budget, as well.

I bought this for my 2nd grade son (homeschooled) as a way to review science concepts without the tedious writing that is usually required in most workbooks. He doesn't like to write a lot, so this book gave us a way to reinforce and document his mastery of the topics in a new and fun way. It's also a nice motor skills activity. I don't know that I would rely completely on this to teach the information. While it does include most/all of the concepts you'd want to cover in Science at this age, the information they give on each topic is very basic. I used this in conjunction with a more comprehensive textbook as a follow-up activity to the lesson.I agree with the annoyance over the front/back content, I had to make copies of many pages to get the pasted components. They probably could have designed the book better to account for that, since there is a page or two of accompanying text that goes with each cut/paste page. Had they put the text on the back of the 'cut' pages, it wouldn't have impacted the 'paste' pages. That's not really a reason to skip this item, just something to bear in mind when using it.There are other books in this series, I also purchased the Grammar version and it was just as good as this one. I'd love to see these books offered with more grade levels. In one year he's blown through the 1-3 level books and now we have nothing else to move up to. I wouldn't count on getting more than one year of content from any of the books in this series. They say Grades 1-3 but that's more dependent on what grade your child is when they are ready for this type of material, not that you will get 3 grades worth of instruction from them.

We love this book! The pages are perforated to tear out, makes it easier to copy for a class. You have to make copies, because the pages are double-sided & you'd cut out the other pages content. This is very good to introduce Science to young kiddos. It has the life cycle of a frog, the five senses, weather, magnets, & matter as topics, to name a few.

This book has great cut and paste activities. It will keep kids busy for a while. So far my child likes it. The reason for 3 stars is that the worksheets are poorly designed and have activities printed on both sides! The cut out parts do not match up so you are unable to do both sides. So you basically can only do half the book. I had to make photocopies of the back of the pages so we could do all activities.

Definitely a great science workbook for kids. My daughter has learned a lot about the life cycle of different animals. She loves to cut and paste as well.

This is a great science supplement. It gives some suggested activities and gives some good cut and paste worksheets. It does not provide full lessons though, so be prepared to do some side teaching to accompany the material. It is not hard to find though. My homeschool, preschool kiddos love it!

Kids love to cut and paste, and this is a great way to discuss science topics while they are having fun with their hands making something to take home. This is suitable for early elementary students.
