I found this to be an excellent resource for basic homeopathy. It is written clearly, and is full of information, however, very easy to read. I read it in a weekend, and figured out some very beneficial remedies for myself. It includes a reference by illness, as well as a guide to some of the more common remedies. It covers common problems, as well as life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Also includes sections on newer, exotic and as-yet-undiscovered illnesses (such as antibiotic-resistant strains, anthrax, influenza, etc), as well as sections on simple way to make your own remedies. The history and success rate of homeopathy are very impressive... Homeopathy is also fast acting, and very inexpensive (averages around 8 cents per dose). I never knew the AMA was formed by physicians in reaction to the high success rates and low cost of homeopathy... not surprised. Anyway, I think it's an excellent book. If I were to buy one book about homeopathy, this would be a very sound choice.

This is such a well written book with lots of great information. Not only does Alan Schmukler give information for common illness, but he also goes into what to do in case there is and epidemic. As he mentions, these are strange times with diseases resisting antibiotics, terrorist attacks and so forth. I feel better prepared with this book and purchasing the remedies needed to have on hand in case something major happens and hospitals are too full or if I can't even get to a hospital... I'll know how to take care of me and my family from the simplest cold all the way to Anthrax. This is a must have book!

Some homeopathy books you reference and other books you actually read. This book has more current information and deals with conditions not often seen in other homeopathic books. It's a well rounded book that has enough topics but isn't so large that it's overwhelming. It is better to have multiple sources of information and to keep learning.

Alan Schmukler has written a most comprehensive, enlightening, and invaluable book that has aided me in too many ways to ever list. I have effectively used and recommended remedies for myself, my family, my friends, and even new acquaintances, all thanks to this cornucopia of wisdom and insight from one of homeopathy's Masters. Whether you are just beginning to explore the fascinating world of homeopathy, or a long time student interested in this Master's interpretations, you will be so inspired and so greatly educated by Alan Schmukler's Handbook!

I like this book very much - tried it out on my Kindle Touch and gave it a good skim before reluctantly returning it. It has a table of contents, but the VITAL sections "Ailments A to Z" and "Remedy Descriptions" have no subheadings at all! This means you have to know the names of the remedies (or the exact name used for the ailment) in order to search - or you have to flip through. Which makes it a good book for flipping through and learning more about homeopathy, but not so good for a quick reference in the Kindle format. There is an index - you have to go to "end" and then flip back a few pages to find it. This gives you page numbers to "go to" but they are not touch accessible. If the author updates this book with a better table of contents for quick reference, I will absolutely consider buying it again for the Kindle.Things I particularly liked in this book were the sections on Pregnancy and Birth; First Aid Remedies for Specific Occupations & Activities (there is some humor here); Economizing (makes sense); and Remedies for Your Home Kit. All very useful chapters. I am adding it to my maybe list for a paperback copy - my space is limited so would have preferred a Kindle copy with a better table of contents!

It is really a very good book.Easy to refer for any illness.I am quite familiar with the author with the tips he provides through hpathy publications. So, when I saw his book in the listings of Bolo, I ordered it then itself. And , it didn't disappoint me at all. I am happy to have it. It became a very valuable possession.

gesucht hatte ich so ein Taschenbuch für den Schnelleinstieg... dieses ist etwas umfangreicher, aber für Neulinge in der Materie auch gut.nicht so gut gefällt mir, daß so ein Horrorszenario dargestellt wird mit kommenden Kriegen, Epidemien und Umweltkatastrophen auf den ersten Seiten
