Both books are very well presented material. In 'ESL ... Writing' greater emphasis on the development of literacy skills of writing and essay writing.

It's suitable for those who are aiming to improve their writing skills. No matter if you're sitting for TOEFL or not this book will help you with any certificate
A great guide to correcting bad writing habits
I am starting to use this book to show ESL students who struggle with good sentence structure. I am looking at Chapter 3, Review of Difficult Grammar Concepts. I particularly want to eliminate run-on sentences and this book gives lots of practice. It also provides good instructions in transitioning from paragraphs to Essays and it teaches the use of transitions, proofreading and revising. Finally I am glad that this book also includes various types of essays. I tend to focus on grammar, but this moves us into implementing writing flow of the English language for Academic purposes. It's not the most exciting book on the shelf, but definitely aimed at advanced writing skills and best suits college or university bound students.
