5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Collection of Short Plays

A.C. · July 28, 2017

This is a great read for anyone interested in playwriting. Published in 1997 with plays written by now famous playwrights including Christopher Durang, John Augustine, Tony Kushner, David Mamet, David Ives, John Guare, August Wilson and more, lends insight into how they may have begun their careers. There are some playwrights in this book unknown to me whose works are also wonderful and inspiring.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well for contest and classroom

Looking for classroom acting projects? This and the previous book are great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for schools or theaters looking for short plays!

A.C. · May 19, 2019

I particularly liked this book. There are a good number of interesting plays. One in particular that stands out is Ferris Wheel. It is suitable for all audiences, perfect for the student actor or seasoned professional!

3.0 out of 5 stars Take Ten: New 10 minute plays

J.V. · September 11, 2017

I messed up by ordering this book as I was hoping that it was an instructional book on play structure. I didn't read the description correctly. I did find the copyright page instructional. I did study the play structure of several artists. It seemed lacking in some aspects. How to build the ave characters, how to make the play flow so that it kept the audience attention, just to name a few. I have written a short play and was looking for how to tighten the transtion from one character to another and from one place to another.

4.0 out of 5 stars Lovely & fun

C.E. · December 26, 2012

If you enjoy 10 Minute plays, this is a keeper. Lots of variety here. "The Philadelphia" has got to be one of the funnies plays I've read. There were several more that were fantastic, and some really great ones. This would be a great resource for small theaters.

5.0 out of 5 stars Arrived fast and in outstanding condition

K.M. · August 20, 2013

This package arrived on the earliest expected arrival date which was nice because I'm leaving for college soon! The condition of the book was like it had just been taken out of plastic wrap; the book was so shiny I could see my face in it. I'm very pleased with how my order process went but remember to check USPS not UPS for tracking information regarding your order.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bought a new book, received a used copy

B. · September 21, 2022

I thought I was receiving a NEW copy of the book, but upon arrival, I noticed the cover of the book was a bit bent and had this sticky residue on it. Inside, I found this weird brown mark in the book. I am disappointed with the fact that I have been provided with a used and dirty copy.

I had bought this book for some extra ideas in the classroom but as I perused through the book I wasn't happy with the bad language that was in there, so I returned it. I didn't think it was suitable for the classroom setting.
