Minecraft is a cultural phenomenon. It has impacted music, television, and books, and for many people it has been a life-changing game. When I first started playing, back in the summer of 2009, I didn’t know it would be a life-changing game for me, too. I was too concerned with building my brick pyramids and glass balconies, and I didn’t yet see what Minecraft was heading to become.
Since then—despite its simple graphics and mechanics—millions and millions of people have joined the adventures of Minecraft. Once you overcome the initial rough edges and see the bigger picture, you find endless worlds, creativity, challenges, and limitless storytelling in one big package.
These experiences are what we have cherished and aimed to preserve, while constantly adding and improving to keep Minecraft fresh and interesting. With this book we want to share how the people behind Minecraft have been thinking about its history and show how important the game has been—and is—to us.
Of course, to truly understand why Minecraft has touched the hearts and minds of so many others, you really should play it yourself. My hunch is that you already have, so let’s together build a deeper understanding of the universe of Minecraft!

Yes, you read that correctly. This book is a very detailed history of both the game and it's impact on a generation. When I first purchased it, I assumed it was a new guidebook for the game, (IYKYK) and was actually pleasantly surprised to find out it is more of a read-through. Our favorite section/chapter goes over the infamous Minecraft music parodies that were viral so long ago. (Again, IYKYK)This book is very high quality. The pages are thick, the cover is substantial, and the print quality is excellent. A nice, heavy book, that would make a great gift for any Minecraft enthusiast. This will definitely be a coffee table book for my sister, whom I purchased it for as a Christmas gift.

It was a Christmas gift for an 11 year old who is very skilled at Minecraft. He’s checked out almost every Minecraft book at our library, and still was very interested in this book. It has new info to him. It’s also a pretty book - large, coffee table, high quality materials and layouts.

purchased as a present for my teen-age nephew who really enjoys minecraft. He seemed to think it was a cool gift which is a score with a 13 year old.
Not worth it
The book does not feel like being a collector's edition.I was hoping for more concept art, something worth Minecraft's 15 anniversary, but it's simple in-game screenshots or pictures of people, accompanied by text on the side. Will return

Bought this as a Christmas present so I don't have the recipient's verdict but I think this book is perfect for Minecraft fans of any ages! From what I've read, it was very informative and each picture was clear. Well packaged in delivery which was very, very fast (a great bonus for Christmas lol).
