TeMika Grooms is an Atlanta-based artist and art activist who illustrated Put Your Shoes On & Get Ready! by Raphael G. Warnock, Save the Crash-test Dummies by Jennifer Swanson, and Nana’s Favorite Things by Dorothy H. Price. She is the founder and program coordinator for KidsLitATL, a grassroots organization to support a diverse group of creators in Atlanta, Georgia, where she lives with her cat, Nina Simone, and her two daughters, who she affectionately calls Thing One and Thing Two. This book takes a biblical theme and applies it to present day life. It is really nicely written and the pictures add to the quality of the message. This is a book to have for young children and/or a Sunday school class.

Precious book! We read this at bedtime. It's good for kids to know the value of taking care of each other, especially when the going gets tough. We're all in this together.

My boys are 8 and 10 and they really enjoy this book. I love the message(s) and it prompts great conversation and learning for our children about being kind, giving, and thankful. I have recommended this book to friends and family.

Oh my goodness, I had no idea how interesting this book would be to my 8 year old granddaughter & her second grade class until my daughter volunteered to read it to them a day after I got it! It was the perfect lesson for that age bracket in more ways than one! The students were engaged & could relate to a couple of the life situations. My granddaughter was able to express what she learned and amazed me when she realized the similarities in the lunch box yielding endless food like Jesus feeding the crowds with the fish & bread!And the bully lesson was excellent. Kudos to Rev Senator Warnock for composing this phenomenal children’s book that really adults can benefit from the humanitarian aspect!

Oh my goodness, I had no idea how interesting this book would be to my 8 year old granddaughter & her second grade class until my daughter volunteered to read it to them a day after I got it!
