In addition to The Pill Book, Dr. Silverman has also authored The Women’s Drug Store, The Pill Book Guide to Safe Drug Use, The Consumer’s Guide to Poison Protection,and Travel Healthy. He is also a co-author of The Vitamin Book: A No-Nonsense Consumer Guide and The Med-File Drug Interactions System.
Dr. Silverman has contributed more than 70 articles, research papers, and textbook chapters to the professional literature, including The Merck Manual of Medical Information, Home Edition. He has taught pharmacology and clinical pharmacy at several universities and has won numerous awards for his work. Dr. Silverman resides in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife, Judith Brown, and their son Joshua.

This item is convenient when there is a question regarding medication, and it is packed full of valuable information.

I like that this is reasonably priced, organized, and practical for home use. There are a wide variety of pills included, with descriptive information about dosages and side effects. I've used this book before, but purchased this edition, as it includes updated information. Recommended.

This book is a treasure-trove of prescription drug information! However, it would greatly benefit from using larger pages to reduce the page count. It requires substantial force to hold open the extra-thick spine. I think it should be updated to reflect modern poison-control practices, such as activated charcoal instead of inducing vomiting. It would also be helpful to have a detailed index for quick look-up; to save space, several similar drugs are often lumped together under the drug category, which makes it hard to find them by name.

This is a pretty good book. It has most of the medications I'm taking, but not all. The latest edition of this book dates from 2012 which is quite a while ago in a world where new drugs are being introduced fairly often. I looked for a more recent edition but none seems to exist. It's time for this to be updated.

So thankful for this book . With medication im being prescribed to family members we know what to expect with all the information you need in one book . I love the pictures incase I come across any pill thats not in a bottle to cross reference what it could be .
A must-have in every home
Every home needs this book. It contains everything your doctor and pharmacist will not tell you. It tells you the exact properties of each active ingredient in most medicines. You get to know side-effects, what it is used for, what other medications react adversely with it and who must avoid it. We update our edition every three years and can't describe how helpful it has been over the years!
A must for every houdehold.
Absolutely invaluable I take 23 different types of pills and found every one of them and the information it gives covers everything. Cannot put it down. I would recommend eveybody should get this book. It gets s 5/5 from me.
