A priceless book. If you can read this aloud to the end without cracking up laughing, you're not human. My grandsons love the book and insist I read it every time they come to visit, although I'm not sure which they prefer ... the story or "Gampy' crying with laughter. Nevertheless, it's great therapy on both sides.

Funny and Well-Written, But Kids Didn't Find It AmusingI ordered The Wonky Donkey after seeing the viral video of the grandmother laughing uncontrollably while reading it. The story is clever, silly, and full of tongue-twisting humor that I personally found hilarious. The rhythm and repetition make it a fun book to read aloud, and I still can't get through it without laughing.However, when I read it to the kids, it completely fell flat — they didn’t laugh or seem interested. It seems like the humor appeals more to adults or older kids who can catch the buildup of jokes. Still, I’m glad I bought it because it brings me so much joy every time I pull it off the shelf. If you're buying it for yourself or other adults to enjoy, it's a 5-star purchase. If you're looking to entertain a group of young kids, it might not get the reaction you expect.★★★★★ (5/5)

Update to the review.I have now purchased a total of 6 of these books. They are just so cute. My favorite thing to do is to give it to an unsuspecting person and ask them to tag it to their kids. By the time we're a few pages in, everyone is laughing. I'm pretty sure the adults get more fun out of this silly book.Just buy it and thank me later.Just started purchasing books for my brand new nieces to have their own little library. I've always had an obsession with books, so it's been really fun to get to start their first book set up.

A favorite book I read with my grandchildren. I often gift the wonderful, fun book that kids can read along with, making silly animal sounds as they read. This and “Goodnight Gorilla” are must haves for kids.
