I used this book a lot to study for my CMS Sommelier course. It was invaluable to me. I had a special one that had a ring binder and loved it as the pages staued open but unfortunately it was ruined in Hurricane Helena so I had to purchase a new Wine Folly book and couldn’t find the edition with the ring binder. I even called the company and they told me they had no idea there was one like that but my boyfriend had purchased it a couple of years ago and doesn’t remember where he got it from. They did say they thought it was a good idea and that they will consider making an edition like that as it was a good idea.

I work at a large liquor store and I kept being sent to the wine department to help out. I liked certain wines, but my knowledge was woefully limited. I had difficulty when customers would ask for recommendations. I was determined to acquire more knowledge and found this book. This book has easy to understand information for anyone who wants to explore the vast world of wine and who doesn't know where to begin. The visuals are part of what really sold it for me. I don't just recommend this book, I'm telling you it is essential if you want to learn more about wine... especially as a beginner.

But I miss several common grape varieties - but I have to remember that this book work from the US market ...
The only wine book you will ever need
I can thoroughly recommend Wine Folly to all, from the novice to the expert. I had the original version which was fundamental to my wine education and purchased this newer version out of curiosity. I am very glad I did, it is a complete rework of the original, with vastly more information. You will find yourself doing into the book again and again. If you only ever buy one book about wine, buy this one.

Man kann es wunderbar als Nachschlagewerk nutzen um mehr über einen Wein zu lernen, den man z. Bsp. geschenkt bekommen hat.Es hat sehr schöne Illustrationen und ist qualitativ sehr hochwertig. Das Design ist sehr edel und fühlt sich durch die matte Beschichtung auch toll in der Hand an. Ein Must-Have für Weinfreunde!
