This was purchases for a parent needed a way to replace the words his son was using. Example: Don't say "I hate that" say "That annoys me" or don't say "He is so stupid" say "He is misguided". Changing the terms and expanding our childrens vocabulary to reflect their true view can be learned at a young age. This book is a great resource for adults, and as they grow children too.

I am a teacher and when I reviewed the above book. I knew I would use it in a classroom. I bought 5 copies for my nieces and nephews to use during their ELA classes. Creative writing is fun. However on any standarized state test especially the writing section one needs to know the parts of speech, synonyms, and antonyms so their essay will be interesting.

After looking through many thesaurus (for children and adults) to find a good one for my first grader, I chose this one. It is easy to use. Print is not too little. The only thing that I am not crazy about is the size of the book, a little too big, but nothing too bad. Overall I think it is the best choice for an elementary school student who loves to write!

My favorite thesaurus for kids. It includes most of the words they are likely to look up for synonyms or antonyms when writing. It is not to be confused with a real dictionary; it is a resource for writing, not for reading.

My fourth grader was frustrated and overwhelmed with a "regular" dictionary. This one is perfect for his needs, easy for a child to read and find words and has made homework much easier for him.

Bought this item for my grandson in 3rd grade. The clear and simple was the reason I bought it. I was disappointed that every time he looked up a word it was not in the dictionary. Might be good for 1st & 2nd graders, but definitely not for 3rd or above.

Simple but Rich
Clear & Simple Thesaurus Dictionary is exactly what the title states. It is clear and simple but rich and functional!I bought a copy of this thesaurus for my grandson who’s a fourth grade student. He really likes it. He is not only using it for his English studies at school. He often refers to it when he writes his diary.The size and font of the book print is appealing. It’s easy and fun to read. The letters look like they are smiling at you, a playful invitation for an adventurous words discovery.I highly recommend this thesaurus to everyone who is interested in exploring the richness of the English language.There is only one technical thing that, in my opinion could get improved, namely the alphabetical order switches . It’s not very easy to find where words starting with the letter “a” end and where words with the letter “b” begin.The pictures I’m adding to my review give comparison in this regard between Clear & Simple (left) and The Oxford English Dictionary (right). I personally favour the later.Nevertheless, the book is worth having it!
