Although I haven't finished reading this yet I already know that it will be a valuable tool and ongoing resource that I will refer to with any questions I have about the safety of essential oils, I have to read it in increments because of the chemistry language but essential oils are so full of healing chemicals and so fascinating to me that I look forward to finishing this wonderful reference book. Thanks to Robert Tisserand for sharing this knowledge so we can be more informed users of these wonderful oils.

A great book ON Essential oil Saftey. Robert Tisserand is a Wonderful writer well Writen book Love it.NOT A FIRST EDITION BY THE WAY.The material in the Book is Important to Me.

Very detailed and great explained book.

This is a well written and comprehensive book on the safety of essential oils for all practitioners. It offers refreshing data based on scientific information, rather than hand-me-down misconceptions redelivered over and over in numerous other texts. The only down-side is that it was written 15yrs ago and while the information is not "out" dated, there needs to be an "updated" version to carry on where this left off. Still a worthy investment.

Good safety information but overly cautious if you believe in the French method of taking it internally. Based on the British philosphy of aromatherapy of aromatic and topical use primarily/only.

Exhaustive and precise
This is an excellent reference and self learning manual (which is what it professes to be). It contains all the essential, technical details necessary to gen up on aromatherapy and I found it to be extremely helpful. Naturally, some of the parts are quite difficult (especially the chemical bits) but that is inherent to the subject matter.It does not simplify and it does not contain commercial pretty pictures to attract the superficial reader, but that is fair enough, given that there are plenty of books like that on the market. One must be a serious student to get enough out of this book - it is for serious study, but that met my expectations (with an illustrious name like Tisserand on the front cover, could one reasonably expect anything else!) so I am happy with that.
Extremely informative and concise
A wonderfully laid out and complete guide to all safety aspects of essential oil usage. This book is invaluable to all who wish to safely use essential oils for use in professional roles, as so little is taught about the safety aspects in most classrooms. Easy to use and cross reference, with some great writing, diagrams and tables.
