5.0 out of 5 stars Great combo of stories

G.L.T. · April 11, 2025

I loved reading D’alulares Greek Mythology, this book blends fiction with truth so well that it creates a great series for short stories into a nicely compiled book. The illustrations are also awesome. It’s great ti see the history of Greece through these myths. If you’re fancied by any-type of mythology, this is a must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book on Greek Gods for easy reading and good information

V. · August 23, 2024

My husband, son and I are going to my son's college planetarium for various shows. At the end of these shows, the teacher talks about the constellations and how they are all related to the Greek Gods. I didn't know any of the stories about the Gods. Yes, I knew certain names of the Gods but did not know the stories behind them. I wanted to be more informed so that the lectures on the constellations made more sense. After researching multiple places for a book on Greek Gods, I saw this one on Bolo. It was highly rated. The stories and explanations are simple, interesting and easily understood. The pictures are cute and are drawn for younger children. It truly is a good book for a quick summary on the Gods. Also, the price is exceptional. I'm glad I purchased this book as it has helped all of us to better understand the constellation presentations .

I told my kid about Medusa and it sparked an interest. I got a handful of books from the library and D'Aulaires was by far the winner, even for a young child. The book is a good balance between storytelling, pictures, detail, but not *too* much detail. It covers enough material to tie different pieces together. I enjoyed reading it. We read it cover to cover and started over. I finally bought a copy when we had to return the library book.I withheld 5 stars because the cover shown here is not the actual cover. It's the dust jacket. The real cover is a solid blue underneath. The library's copy had the actual picture on it. I like the blue cover better but having the picture on the cover would have been nice. Dust jackets are impractical when dealing with young children and sight recognition is helpful.I'll give a shoutout to the Mordicai Gerstein books as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best Greek myth book out there

I remember reading this book in middle school and checking it out from the library. Every chance I got. It is by far one of my favorite Greek mythology books. The illustrations are awesome and the story interpretations are classic.

5.0 out of 5 stars Interesting and great images

L.M.M. · September 1, 2024

I have been reading this book to my 8- and 6-year-olds. My little one really likes the pictures and the older one like both the story and images. It is great for anyone who is interested in mythology. While my 8-year-old could easily read it, I think she gets more from these stories being read to. I find that I am reading it more slower so that she can absorb the information, and she loves learning about Greek myths.

Very happy

True to description. My children are thoroughly enjoying reading this & love looking at the pictures too.

Great Book of Greek Mythology For Kids and All Ages

M.C.T.S. · October 16, 2022

We absolutely loved this book! My son had to order it for a Greek mythology class and we read through it together. The stories were captivating and fun to read. It was fascinating to learn how many of the common phrases we use today come from Greek Mythology, and learning their origin was so interesting. This book was a nice big book and had lots of great pictures to bring the stories to life on an even greater level. Highly recommend for kids and all ages!
