About the Author
Al Perkins was the author of several Bright and Early Books and Beginner Books, among them Hand, Hand, Fingers, Thumb; and The Ear Book. Perkins passed away in 1975.
Robert Lopshire wrote and illustrated the Beginner Books Put Me in the Zoo, I Want to Be Somebody New!, and New Tracks I Can Do! He died in 2002.
Joan Heilbroner is best known for her first book, Robert the Rose Horse, which was published in 1961. Acquired by Dr. Seuss when he was editor of Beginner Books, it has been in print for more than 50 years. Her inspiration to write A Pet Named Sneaker came from her grandchildren, Quentin and Katrina, and their talented pet snake, Plato. A graduate of Columbia University, Ms. Heilbroner worked as a school librarian until her retirement.
Marilyn Sadler has been writing and illustrating children's books for 20 years. Her work has received many honors, including an IRA Classroom Choice Award and a Parents’ Choice Award. She lives in Ohio.

These are great books for beginner readers! There are 6 complete Dr. Seuss stories. The print is big and bold which makes it easier for my son to read and follow along. Definitely worth the price for six stories!

My son loves these. I purchased 3 at the same time (red, blue and green) and they’re all as advertised. The books are sturdy and great for multiple reads.

These books that are a compilation of multiple Dr. Seuss books are such a deal, and the The Big Red Book of Beginner Books is no exception. You could easily buy each of these books separately and spend $8-12/book, or you can get all these books for a much better price. This RED book includes newer books as well as older books loved since I was a child:-Stop That Ball-I Want To Be Somebody New-Sam and the Firefly-The Very Bad Bunny-The Digging-est Dog-Robert The Rose HorseI really enjoyed reading these books to my 3 year old daughter, one at a time at bedtime each night, and she loved it too! Each book tells a cute story or life lesson. With these books you can get all 5 colors, red, blue, orange, green, purple and practically have yourself a little Dr. Seuss library! We already have all 5! A great addition to any childs book collection, and saves you a bit of money. Definitely recommend them.

We have bought every single one of the big books because my toddler loves him so much. It's really great to have stories in one book. So by one and then see how much you love it and then immediately go purchase the other books in the series.

The media could not be loaded. My daughter is a beginner reader and while some words are challenging for her, but she can read most of the stories.

Purchased as a surprise for my toddlers who absolutely require multiple stories prior to bedtime. We have a number of Dr. Seuss books and were pleased with this addition. I noticed it really compliments/adds to several of the stories from the “Big Blue Book of Beginner Books”. You get to revisit characters like P.J. Funny Bunny, Spot from “Put Me in the Zoo” and at possibly the same boy/artist from “A Fly Went By”. The stories are very cute and imaginative which my toddlers 1.5 and 3 enjoy. I recommend this for any young child’s library.

Perfect for reading to little ones
Perfect for bedtimes! I got this because I wanted the sequel to "I want to go into the zoo", but this is a collection of fun (and addictive) short stories with great illustrations. Perfect for reading to little ones. It's quite heavy, so probably not ideal for older ones to read to themselves unless they are quite strong, I imagine by the time they can easily hold this they would be too old for these stories.
