I purchased this to read to my class with an art project about food trucks. The kids really liked the story and were inspired to make their own unique fun trucks.

Such a cute summer book for kids. We love reading this so much from the library we bought it! Lots of different cuisine to talk about and new ideas of food to try. The 4 year old approves!

Excellent book that’s a favorite over here. We initially borrowed it from the library and my 2.5 year old wanted it read to him over and over to the point that he can now finish all the sentences in the book so we ended up buying it. The illustrations are fun, super colorful and detailed...lots to look at and talk about. And the story is great, there are lots of different words that’s makes excellent for expending vocabularies, there’s a happy/excited vibe throughout and it’s fun to read out loud which is helpful when it’s your third or fourth go through in a row! Highly recommend this one but be prepared for your kid to become obsessed with food trucks and start using the word hullabaloo.

Follow along as the food trucks get ready for the day and a family gets ready to go to the festival and enjoy the food!I really liked the close look at what goes on in a food truck, and having the narrative split between the food trucks and the family creates a nice sort of tension and great satisfaction when the family finally makes it to the food truck festival!The rhyming text is a JOY to read aloud and the story includes funny and sweet moments.The illustrations will draw you right in; I love all the details in each and every spread and how the characters in the book reflect the diverse world we live in.My only warning: reading this book will make you hungry!Oh, and keep an eye on the cat. He's sneaky! My daughter loves pointing him out when we see him in the home scenes!

We read a lot of books in this house. We mostly rent from the library with this book not being an exception. Sometimes we will read a book just once while other may get a handful of reads. Then we have those few books that are requested day after day. This book is definitely falls into the latter. We love the illustrations, the rhyming is cute, and the book shows a diverse population with new and interesting foods. My son loves to pick which truck is his favorite and what food he would eat. For reference my son is four years old but I could see older children really enjoying this book as well.

Readers go back and forth between watching a variety of food trucks and one family get ready and go to a food truck festival.This is told in catchy rhyme, and all the pages are loaded with colorful things to look at. Food trucks are becoming much more a part of everyday life for people so it is nice for kids to have a book about them. One fun little tidbit for those looking for the baby's shoe, see if you can find the page where the baby accidentally had both shoes drawn on. A great pick for little foodies and kids who love all forms of transportation. Also a good read for getting kids ready to go to a food truck event like is described here.
