This story moved fast and kept you interested. Very good story. The characters were fun to follow from book to book.

This was a good one. The story had a lot of moving parts Andy stories with changing directions however, I managed to compartmentalize them pretty well. The endings were satisfying to me.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the Better Books in The Series

L.F. · September 19, 2025

One of the better Women's Murder Club novels in awhile. Several dangerous plots swirl about, including the murder of Warren Jacobi (no spoiler here -- blurb states that), Lindsay Boxer's longtime mentor. Yuki has a killer trial about to commence. There's a probable serial killer. Oh, and Martha, the dog is sick. Tugs at all the heartstrings from sadness to heart pounding action. I felt the end was a bit muddled, but satisfactory. In Patterson's Thank Yous at the end of the story, he mentions that Martha must be the oldest canine in mystery history. I kind of disagree: Donna Andrews (Meg Langslow series), started her series in 1999, and Spike, the Small Evil One, was 8 years old in the 1st novel. He's still kicking and living up to name in her latest book. Mr. Patterson, keep Martha around.

Womens murder club series book. Very good reading

3.0 out of 5 stars This one is personal

The Women's Club is back with a vengeance. Detective Lindsay Boxer is assigned to a case that is more than just personal since it involves a person she loved dearly and was also her partner.Warren Jacobi worked with Lindsay for several years and learned from him what she did not learn from the academy.  How can he be dead? Who would want to kill him?Lindsay is very emotional, and although Claire tries to comfort her, Cindy and Yuki all know and love him. There are no clues, except a matchbook cover with the words "I said you were dead" written on the inside. Where do they begin? In the meantime, Yuki is trying to put Esteban Dario Garza, known to his friends as "Dario," for murdering his friend, and she is sure he has murdered others before.Several other people have now been found dead with the words "I said you were dead," some in Francisco and others in different states. In the meantime, Joe and his partner are sent to Mexico because they believe that is where the killer is.As usual, Cindy always seems to find information she can pass along while Yuki deals with problems in the courthouse.I thought that they should have emphasized more how worried Lindsay was, as she knows his partner is in the hospital for her protection, and Joe is in jail. They don't cooperate much with the police, who maintain the jail.  Is Joe alive or dead?Joe has been gone for several days with no contact with anyone from the team, and I thought they should have paid more attention to that and Lindsay and her daughter. The book is interesting but not as exciting as I would have expected.  Now I have to wait till next April for Mr. Patterson to release the next new book in the series.

OMG just finished this one and Wow it's so good. I did not want it to end. Patterson at his best.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast-paced and entertaining

T. · September 28, 2025

I thought the switching of point of view was well done and seamless. Even though the ending was a bit predictable, it was a good read.

Excellent addition to the series; good story

D.T.P. · May 10, 2025

It seems like a long titme since the last Women's Murder Club novel, but the wait was worth it. This novel unfolds nicely, with lots of focus on the main characters, and an interesting story. The ending seems a wee bit rushed, but the build-up was good. I enjoyed reading this sequel and look forward to the next episode, hopefully soon! One of the stronger novels in the series.
