5.0 out of 5 stars A Bit More Than a Novel, Yes?

You can see how their thoughts formed the characters and plot by intricately locking together ideas that are better combined than apart. For example, the political concept of First Gentleman has been in BC's mind for many years as Hilary has beaten herself up at that wall, but combine that with JP's unrelenting plot drama of the POTUS spouse being on trial for murder and such a juggernaut of action roars that this joyous reader hung on screaming for 400+ pages. I can see them laughing and serious as they mix and unmatch scenes and personalities to get and give maximum bang for my entertainment buck, but there is even more to tantalize: an idea how America can get out of the economic mess we are in, started when BC and Al Gore were in office and the concept was emerging fast and hard that we need to establish a new way to resolve our social conscience needs with our revenue stream to meet the new demands of our planet and our people. We need to lead AND follow unique ideas and people to, well, save us all. And wouldn't that be the best way to finish this tale, by EVERYBODY being able to live "happily ever after?". Works for me!
5.0 out of 5 stars First Gentleman is wrung through the wringer on Murder Charges!
Madam President has to stay steadfast keeping her Job number one on her list. Her husband is accused of a 20 year old murder and everything points towards guilt. A tangled web of deceit and lies hangs him in the press. A lawyer and her husband develop a novel convinced of his guilt. But the plot twists. Excellent flow of action keeping you intrigued. Story leads me to understand the political process a tad more and job description more while stirring the embers of my disgust with such a private process.
4.0 out of 5 stars not the best they have written
I have read all three books that they did together. I liked this one the least. The other two were five stars. This one was a slow starter and I was not fond of the short chapters that kept you moving from one place to another. Just did not have the forward, cohesive movement of the other two.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! What an Incredible Story!
This is the first James Patterson book I've read and WOW am I impressed! Riveting story, fast paced, not too graphically violent, twists I didn't see coming, wonderful ending. Great characters, I loved them all, so real. And the short chapters really made reading a 400+ word book fly by. I could hardly put it down when everyday life intruded. I'm so happy I finally gave Mr Patterson a try and now I'm heading down the Patterson rabbit hole, so many books, so little time. The First Gentleman was a wonderful read and great start to what has become my Patterson obsession. I hope this book becomes a movie.
5.0 out of 5 stars Impossible to put down
The First Gentleman is a brilliant collaboration between Bill Clinton and James Patterson and the best yet in the series. The story is riveting from page one to the final page, the writing is precise and flawless. You are drawn to the truth of what you are reading. The story is cleverly laid out, and the characters drawn with depth and believability. These two authors are a perfect complement to one another. When I finished reading that final 466th page, I knew I had read the best book of 2025.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good Mystery
I read this in one sitting that included a 3 hour nap. I couldn’t put it down. There were a lot of characters but the writers always gave a little snippet of who they were so I didn’t have to create a chart of names. The only thing I can say that I didn’t like was the story of Garrett. I would much prefer he had been there all along. CryI did love the president’s economic plan. It’s opposite of what’s happening now and it sounds like a DREAM. I’d vote for President Wright!
3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing but worth the read.
This book was definitely a disappointment compared to the last two by these two gentlemen. I have been looking forward to this release for quite some time, but it did not live up to my expectations of the writers. Without giving too much away,The ending was rather predictable because it’s been used in many other books as to who the guilt party was.
4.0 out of 5 stars Not bad Mr. President.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I'd give it 4.5 stars but that doesn't work. I figured out the near ending early in the story but that's just me. Just as insurmountable is the acceptable spelling.Fast paced, great story. I wonder if Brea will be back?
