Discover the Secret to Savoring Every Day
The Psalmist declared, "Taste and see that the Lord is good" (Ps. 34:8), so Margaret Feinberg decided to take the invitation literally. She embarked on a global culinary and spiritual adventure descending 410 feet into a salt mine, baking fresh matzo at Yale University, harvesting olives off the Croatian coast, and tasting succulent figs at a premier farm—all to discover the truth in such a simple verse.
With each person she encountered, she asked, "How do you read the Scripture in light of what you do every day?" Their answers will change the way you read the Bible forever… and the way you approach every meal.
Sessions include:
- You're Invited to the Table (18 min)
- Delighting in the Sweetness of Fruitfulness (18 min)
- Chewing on the Bread of Life (21 min)
- Savoring the Salt of the Earth (21 min)
- Relishing the Olive and Its Oil (21 min)
- Discovering the Liturgy of the Table (18 min)
Designed for use with Taste and See Study Guide (9780310087816), sold separately.

Recipes are even included! For a Christian, I just don't see how it gets much better than this. Each chapter in Taste and See is a culinary adventure with a different location featured. The author shares her adventures as she mixes food and God together and comes up with a recipe for the reader learning and growing through each chapter. At the end of each chapter, Feinberg offers an activity to do with family and/or friends around the table. There are also several recipes that look truly delicious. I especially like that the Bible is set in the Mediterranean area so these recipes are all a part of the Mediterranean diet that I choose to do each day for my health. There are recipes for baked halibut, lamb lollipops, sour dough starter and bread, roasted figs and Brussels sprouts, and gluten free dark chocolate cookies. In the back of Taste and See, there is a list of all of the recipes for easy reference. I confess that I haven't tried one yet, but I picked out several that I want to try. The recipes look easy to follow in the way they are written.I especially like how conversational and down-to-earth Feinberg is in Taste and See. It was both interesting and fun to read. There are also fun pictures of Feinberg as she went to each of the places mentioned in the book to do her research. It isn't hard to visualize her making the travels or cooking with her husband. There are also side bars with extra tidbits of interesting information and simple activities to do to put faith in action. I think this would be such a fun book to do in a small group or with a group of foodie friends. I truly enjoyed the whole book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Taste and See...
I've been looking forward to this book ever since I finished Scouting the Divine (hoping it would be written before it was ever a thing). I have been so fortunate to be on this launch team where I received the first 3 chapters. Those chapters literally left my mouth watering. The fruit so close and so far.My ordered copy arrived yesterday afternoon and I finished it this morning! In Taste and See, Discovering God Among Butchers, Bakers and Fresh Food Makers, Feinburg has again brought the Bible to life. She has investigated and discovered a fresh insight to the Word. Staying true to Scripture, she has looked to biblical references for several common foods and professions and given new perspective that has been lost from modern context.Feinberg's writing is down to earth, knowledgeable, and full of love for God.Now I'm looking forward to prepping (and eating!) the included recipes, as well as inviting friends to join in.I highly recommend readingTaste and See. Your perspective on food and the Bible will be better for it.

What's not to love about traveling to the region of a particular food source, learning from the experience, and growing in faith and wisdom? The author prepares a wonderful banquet for our spirits to enter into a place of pleasure and rare first-hand experiences that stimulate the desire to open up to what's around us. After all, 'The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof'!
5.0 out of 5 stars A spiritual foodie's dream come true!
Margaret Feinberg has done it again, and I would not have expected anything less!I am always amazed how Margaret puts pen to paper and how her words captivate me. In today's modern world, a lot of us forget origin stories and Ms. Feinberg takes us back to the source; the First Foodie, our Creator, God The Father. While reading Taste and See, I felt I was right there, experiencing the journeys alongside Ms. Feinberg. Every description so vivid; from the landscape to the experiences and of course, the food and spiritual connections, made it seem I had traveled with her.As someone who loves to cook and longs to know God and grow in my faith, Margaret did not disappoint with her new book, Taste and See. I could not put it down. Like a multi course meal, each chapter surpassed the last leaving me yearning for more.Ms. Feinberg also reminds us food is a celebration, meant to be shared. This is difficult to remember with the daily hustle and bustle of life. However, we should take the time to sit down and enjoy food in the company of those you care about and Taste and See God's bountiful love.
A must for Bible students, with studies to go with book on website.

AN AUTHENTIC JOURNEY OF EPIC PROPORTIONS; YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT!
THIS IS AN AWESOME RECIPE BOOK. IT HAS CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS, AND SHOW-CASES JEWISH CULTURAL CUISINE. THE AUTHOR'S PERSONAL STORIES ABOUT VISITING FAMILIES IN THE HOLY LAND WHILE EXPERIENCING THEIR CUISINE IS RICH AND AUTHENTIC. I THOROUGHLY ENJOY IT.

Simple, quick read. Not groundbreaking. Just mildly interesting.
A very simple, easy-read book. Just a couple of foodie insights - I knew most of it already from growing up in church. A quick read with some fun stories. Nothing spiritually groundbreaking for me. I think I learned more about Margaret than anything else.
