I wish I could read this book earlier. This book talks about the fundamental framework about how to conduct excellent research. I particularly found it useful regarding the logic of relationships between claims, reason, evidence, warrant and acknowledgment.

I have been using this book in my history upper-level undergrad and grad seminars for years; I still use it for myself. It is much more useful than some of the history-specific method books. I am not sure I like some of the examples used in this latest edition and I am not sure the restructuring was necessary, but I'll get used to it. Whether you're a grad student or a professional stuck on an assignment or planning a new project, this is the go-to guide.
