The books came (from India) in a timely manner and undamaged. All the volumes were there. The selection of readings is wonderfully varied, from Western classics to Eastern dynastic poetry. The selected excerpts are well chosen not only to represent the author but also as worthy readings in their own right. Penguin translations are always first-rate, and these volumes are no exception. If you are looking for an introduction to basic literacy, this is a good start.

This is an excellent addition to my library. I see others said that their kids loved these books. I am not too sure about that. Sure they are great books. But have an adult theme. For instance the first book "Mrs Rosie and the Priest" is a nice story but unless you want Junior developing a more advanced vocabulary in which "cuckold, pimps, prostitutes" feature prominently I would suggest vetting a little bit.No complaints.By the way, as a response to other buyers who complained about their packages being all dinged up, the seller sent mine wrapped tighter than a mummy's knickers (see? vocabulary), and the soft fluff inside flew all over my yard and now it looks like dadgum Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in February (I am in Nairobi in September)Ta, and all that

Super awesome purchase- excellent selection and fantastic price. You can’t really go wrong with this set! The shipping did take about two weeks for mine, but I’m not sure how usual that is. The books are in great condition!

I saw a few people with this box set on Instagram and I just had to have. I wasn't sure what to expect since this box set is a huge collection of classic short stories and poems, but it has been a true delight to open up this box set and see the many wonderful stories inside. I've been choosing random books from the set to read when I'm in between a novel or want to read something that is not too long while having breakfast or dinner or out for a drive. There are some books and authors that I have heard of and some that are very new to me, considering that I mostly read fantasy, mystery and historical fiction. These little black classic books are a true treasure to have in any household.

Best impulsive shopping ever.
I started looking for one book and bought the whole box set instead. And I have to say that I am just delighted at the mere sight of this wonderful collection of 80 different types of works of 80 well-known authors. I was a little skeptical because the reviews on Bolo.com, but i must that, my experience has been entirely different.1. I received properly packed, not-at-all torn from any side box set.2. The quality of books is great. The size, as apparent from the dimension of independent books, is a little smaller, as justified by the name 'little black classic', than that of the usual Penguin Classics.3. All books are for keeps. This is one of my best purchases ever. Even though some titles may not interest me right now, I am still looking forward to exploring each one of them, as rest assured, these are all acclaimed works and loved by a variety of people across the world.So, I've attached a few screenshots that give you an idea about1. How it looks2. What are the contents3. The size as compared to a normal Penguin Classic (E.g. Three Men in a Boat. It goes without saying that this book is not a part of the box set and is only used for comparison)

Lo compré porque había visto varias reseñas en redes sociales y encontré que en Bolo estaba más barato que en cualquier lugar. Haciendo cuentas (3 GBP el libro, según dice al revés), creo que ahorras bastante dinero comprando los 80 juntos. Cuando me llegó, venía envuelto en una caja, lo que hizo que no tuviera ninguna esquina del box set dañada. Lo que sí noto es que los libros tienen pequeños defectos (hilos de silicón y dobleces por andar en la caja), aunque no me quejo del vendedor, porque, de nuevo, son 80 libros.
