I’m a big fan of Owen Han’s sandwich videos and was genuinely excited about how they would translate on print with his new cookbook. When I got my preordered copy, I was shocked to learn that about a third of the recipes did not have any photos, with full spreads of just text, leaving the final products to the imagination. The cookbook feels inconsistent with his visually stunning and satisfying digital content, that I’m really surprised that his team let this go to print without ensuring that each recipe has at least one accompanying photo at minimum. Though the sandwich recipes in this collection are diverse and comprehensive, I worry that fans of Han’s digital presence will find this cookbook underwhelming.

Been following Owen on Instagram for awhile now and finally received the book...and it did not disappoint. The recipes are easy, the pictures are beautiful and it provides some creativity and variety for what can be just a standard or sometimes mundane food item like a sandwich. Highly recommend.
