About the Author
Kevin Henkes has been praised both as a writer and as an illustrator and is the recipient of the Children’s Literature Legacy Award for his lasting contribution to literature for children. He received the Caldecott Medal for Kitten’s First Full Moon; Caldecott Honors for Waiting and Owen; two Newbery Honors, one for Olive’s Ocean and one for The Year of Billy Miller;and Geisel Honors for Waiting and Penny and Her Marble. His other books include The World and Everything in It, A House, A Parade of Elephants, Chrysanthemum, and the beloved Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse. Kevin Henkes lives with his family in Madison, Wisconsin.

Owen, Chrysanthemum and Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse were favorites of mine growing up, so of course had to buy them for my daughter, and it’s no surprise she’s quickly fallen in love with them, too. As I was looking into other books by Kevin Henkes and was so thrilled to stumble across this book of his top classics! I was worried combining the stories might lead to smaller text and pictures, but it’s not at all - it’s the exact same as the individual books, just put all together in one fabulous package! The book is beautiful from cover to cover, and it’s the same price as just one of the individual books! Absolutely no negatives to share. Get this book - you won’t be disappointed.

The media could not be loaded. The sweetest collection! We were so pleasantly surprised by the quality of this book. It has so many of our favorites and the pages are glossy and beautiful. The hard cover is thick with a protective jacket. It exceeded our expectations and will be a go-to baby gift. I’m a teacher and love the word usage, themes, and lessons of each story.

I loved “Chrysanthemum” when I was young. I proudly learned how to spell such a long word in 1st grade. I remember reading many of these books around that time. So I was delighted to find this treasury to read to my 4 year old. We have enjoyed reading through the stories. The quality of the book is excellent.
