Beautiful, Compact, and Surprisingly Luxurious
I was genuinely impressed when I opened this set. These books are truly compact and pocket-sized, which makes them incredibly easy to carry around. They would be perfect for slipping into a bag for travel, a commute, or even reading outside the house. They feel designed for portability without sacrificing quality.The entire set looks like something far more expensive. It definitely has that collector’s appeal while still being practical enough to actually use.Despite the smaller format, the print is clear and readable. Of course, the font is smaller because of the compact size, but it is well laid out and not cramped.Overall, this feels like a thoughtfully made edition of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It is beautiful enough to display and small enough to carry anywhere if you choose to. For Tolkien fans, this is an excellent value for how premium it looks and feels.
Great version of LotR
Love the look and feel of of these books. They don’t take up a lot of space, but look great on a bookshelf! The soft leather makes them feel more like a paper back, but they still have more structure than a paper back. Overall very happy with those version of LotR!

This Deluxe Pocket Boxed Set of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings is absolutely stunning and easily one of my favorite book purchases. If you love Tolkien or are just starting your journey into Middle earth, this set is a perfect choice. It is definitely one of my favorite seriesThe first thing that stood out to me is the beautiful boxed design. The case is sturdy and well crafted, making it look great on my shelf. Each book has its own elegant, uniform style, giving the whole set a really premium feel.Even though these are “pocket” editions, the print is still very readable, and the compact size makes them incredibly convenient to take anywhere. Whether I’m traveling, out at a café, or just reading in bed, it’s nice not to have to carry big, heavy hardcovers. These are the kind of books you can easily slip into a bag without worrying about them getting damaged thanks to the size.As for the stories themselves, Tolkien’s world building, characters, and writing are timeless. It’s amazing having both The Hobbit and the entire LOTR trilogy in a format that’s portable but still feels collectible. The set makes it easy to move from one book to the next and enjoy the full epic without switching between mismatched editions.Overall, this Deluxe Pocket Boxed Set is a perfect blend of beauty, quality, and convenience. It looks fantastic, feels special, and makes it easier than ever to enjoy one of the greatest fantasy sagas ever written. Highly recommend for personal reading or as a gift!

Cute, but low quality
This book set is a bit of an odd beast. It's cute, but shoddily made. The leather-like cover is very pleasant to hold, and nicely flexible, but it would be an exaggeration to call it luxurious. The cover is the the main attraction of the physical construction of the book. The pages are a disappointment. The paper is thin and cheap, though it feels nice. The typesetting is a joke. The pages look like shrunken copies of a larger book, which they probably are. The chosen font, clearly intended for a larger book, doesn't scale down well, which makes it more difficult to read than a similarly small font that's designed to be printed small. Compared to the paperbacks, the paperbacks are larger, and the text is spread across roughly 30% more pages, which allows them to use a much larger and more readable font than these miniatures. To make matters worse, these "photocopied" pages are inconsistently printed, so some are offset and parts of a page are printed too bold while other parts look faded.Bottom line, they're quite cute and decorative, as they are essentially miniatures of the real thing. They are comfortable to hold, but uncomfortable to read. However, small as they are, they're quite portable, and the cover is more robust than a paperback, so this format has its uses, at least for some people. I would recommend having a larger version for reading at home, but these small volumes can be handy to continue reading while on the road. It's definitely overpriced on Bolo, the list price being nearly half of what you find online. I was tempted to give it 3 stars for all its flaws and the exaggerated price, but if you can live with those flaws, they are nice enough to warrant the extra star.

Exactly what I want. Need to pay attention on size before buying, because someone can be surprised that it small. But I love it!!! Like a pocket edition for traveling and really great design to decorate a table!
Fantastic 2020 edition
I haven't bought a paper book, let alone a hardcover book, since I got my first Kindle more than 15 years ago. Not until I decided to buy this box set. And it was worth it, and more.My order arrived this afternoon and the packaging by Bolo was perfect, the books were well protected and had no damage. The quality of the books is just outstanding, fantastic covers, great paper, nice font type and size.I'm not reviewing the writing of the books, after all most of those whose planning to buy this set have already read the books earlier in some form. The first time I read these books was maybe more than 40 years ago.The packaging and the overall feel of these books is just phenomenal. Not only will it look good on any bookshelf, but it's something you can pass on to your children.The only teeny-weeny regret I have now is I ordered this last Saturday for € 93, and today they cost € 75. But then again that's the story of my life.So to those on the fence about buying this set, at € 75 this is bargain!
