The Puresport watermelon electrolytes are a refreshing option if you’re looking for something beyond the typical fruity hydration powders. The watermelon flavour starts off strong and punchy before mellowing out into something much smoother. Compared to other electrolyte brands I’ve tried, these definitely have a stronger salt profile, which makes sense as they feel geared towards athletes or those training hard and needing proper performance support.In practice, they’ve worked well for me — I noticed a little energy and hydration boost during training sessions, even when I wasn’t pushing myself at full intensity. They’re also handy on those days when you just feel drained and need to rehydrate. I appreciate that the mixing instructions give a wide range of water ratios, meaning you can easily adjust the flavour strength to your preference.On the downside, they don’t dissolve as quickly as some competitors. Salty but refreshing, a nice taste and honestly quite satiating as well as hydrating. My autonomic specialist approved of the stats! Requires more mixing than some drink powders, but less than others, so just make sure you’re shaking/stirring well, and re-mix if leaving it for a while as some crystals will form at the bottom. I have the raspberry version too.

I ordered these electrolyte hydration sachets for my husband who is a keen runner. He has found that some of the electrolytes which come in tablet form don’t have the same level of sodium as these sachets. He is currently in training for a half marathon and when sweating after his runs he found he was able to replenish his sodium levels with these sachets, making him feel much more hydrated.The usage does state on the box mix with 450 to 900 ml water. My husband found that in his opinion, that it was nicer to drink with around 650 ml of water, but that’s just personal taste. He also liked the fact that the drink was not sweet or artificial tasting which some of the tablet form electrolytes can be.The sachet mixes almost immediately and does not leave any sediment in the beaker. The sachets are a really handy size and he now carries a sachet in his gym bag.Overall, he found them to be a tasty and salty watermelon electrolyte drink which are reasonably priced.

Puresport seems to be one of those brands that has come from nowhere to me seeing it everywhere from clothes to supplement products. I checked out these electrolytes to see how they would do.The electrolytes are contained in a series of individual portion size sachets which you mix into water, it dissolves better with closer to a litre of water in my experience, at the top end of the recommended amount. Contents wise it has all the nutrients that I would expect from a product of this type. The watermelon flavour is quite artificial and when combined with the salt isn’t that pleasant.Overall these are fine as electrolytes but don’t buy them for the flavour.

I’ve been doing double sessions daily of swimming and gym classes and this is taking its toll on my body in terms of some muscle weakness and fatigue. It has been suggested to me that this may be a sign of electrolyte imbalance, especially as a vegan my calcium levels are low generally and these hydration sachets seemed to be a good place to start to address this. Puresport in a known brand and their electrolyte drinks were offered to runners at mile 24 of the London Marathon to "fuel" them through their final miles. These sachets are so easy to use. I make my water bottle up with one sachet prior to my evening work out. I try to drink some before my class as the information suggested this was a good idea. The rest I usually consume after each station of the blast class. Taste wise it’s OK – not too sweet and only a little salty – but ultimately, if the benefits are worth it, for me its less about the taste. It is too early to tell if this is truly making a difference, but initial thoughts are positive so far.

Electrolytes are fantastic and if you don’t know what benefit they have, then read onIf you’re into your general health or improving yet, or health and fitness, bodybuilding, you work long hours, where you’re likely to be fatigued, or you work in a safety critical environment then water alone doesn’t replenish your body – you need to supplement it with electrolytes.You can get your general electrolytes and vitamins through food, but sometimes it’s not enough unless you eat an absolute ton so simply take one of these sachets and toss it into your shaker and drink during your workout or even after, or just have it as a drink during the day.General rule of thumb is do not take any more than one per day. You will notice a difference almost immediately after drinking.A great price and tastes really good.
