5.0 out of 5 stars Great product at an amazing price
This is a great grinder! I am delighted so far. Builders quality impressed right out of the box.First grind was impressive, so much quieter than my Krups blade cutter. It hardly makes any noise at all.Smooth and very fine, even grind too.Very little mess.Simple to use, what’s not to like, and at the price I am so pleased with my choice!
5.0 out of 5 stars An amazing coffee bean grinder!
This is everything I hoped from an electric coffee bean grinder. I've been using a manual grinder for some time now - they do the job well, but it's very slow and your arm gets tired very quickly. Imagine whisking double cream with a fork until it goes stiff... yeah, that's what it's like!Okay, so this coffee bean grinder has a courseness control from very course (good for French press) all the way down to very fine (great for moka pots). I use moka pots for my coffee, so it's essential that this machine grinds it fine enough for the moka pot - and yes, it really does! The tub that holds the ground coffee has a lid with a special 'lip' on it that you press a few times after using the machine, as that helps a lot of the ground coffee fall off the lid (it's kind of stuck on there due to statis created during the grinding process). The machine is only sale for £36 at the time of my review, so I'd say grab yourself a bargain whilst it's cheap - you won't regret it!
5.0 out of 5 stars Great value burr grinder
I drink a lot of coffee, and I make it different ways: most often using a cafetière, but also a moka pot, a Thai coffee filter, occasionally an espresso machine, and cold brewed. My preference is for mid-roast beans, and grinding the beans for use as needed. If I have something really special (my favourite Jamaica Blue Mountain, or some Kopi luwak that I received from a Malaysian friend for my birthday) then I'll take particular care over how I grind and brew it, and it's deeply ingrained that burr grinders are the way to go: it really does make a difference to the flavour. This electric burr grinder is as pictured and described. It comes securely packed and would make a great gift for a coffee enthusiast. The pack contains the grinder body with lidded hopper and grounds catcher jar; a scoop/brush combo, a small instruction leaflet and a two-year warranty card. All appears to be good quality and well made. The machine itself has a small footprint and will fit neatly on the counter with my kettle and coffee doings. The first thing I do with any electrical equipment is check the plug and fuse, and to be frank I was suspicious of the slim plug. However, it passes my usual checks without any issue: it has the kite mark, the pins are right, and it fits the power socket as it should. It contains a 3A fuse, appropriate for this 200W machine. So that done, I moved on to testing it.This is a very easy machine to use. Beans go into the hopper, which holds a bit under 200g of beans. There's a dial on the side for selecting the grind - a bit stiff to turn, but clearly labelled and easy to select. On the front there's a timer switch to set the duration of timing - the maximum 40 seconds grinds as much coffee as the catcher will hold (a bit under 100g). Once it's all set up, it's a single button push to grind. It's quite quiet in operation: sure it makes a grinding noise, but it's quieter and less obtrusive than a bladed coffee mill (that I use for spices) - it's not quite as loud as the attached video sounds, because that was filmed close to the machine. The ground coffee is just as I'd hope: evenly ground and the appropriate coarseness for the setting. I've pictured the coarse grind for a cafetière, but I also tested it for a fine espresso grind and it produced a very fine, even grind.Overall I think this is a great machine that does what I'd hope. The price at time of ordering was £49.99 which I think is good value. I'm very happy with this grinder, and would recommend.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great first grinder, intuitive and solid quality
This is the first coffee bean grinder I’ve owned, as I’ve only recently gotten into coffee, and it’s beyond what I expected. There are plenty of grind settings to choose from with it's level turn-style knob and it’s very intuitive to use. The build quality feels solid too. I’ve got a few other products from this brand and, as usual, they don’t disappoint in terms of functionality or quality. Definitely happy with this purchase.
5.0 out of 5 stars Very good value
I was very impressed with this grinder, especially given its fairly low price. You have control over the grind fineness, and running time (up to 40s).I was surprised that it ground 100g of beans in 30s for my cafetiere, much faster than my old grinder. It is also much less noisy, while not exactly quiet the sound was not annoying. The grinder is very easy to use, and quite easy to clean. It appears to be very well made, and arrived well packaged.
3.0 out of 5 stars Clogs easily, flimsy construction
Bought to replace my Krups coffee grinder which had given 10 years of reliable service but deserved retirement. This grinder does not live up to its reviews I feel. It doesn't have excellent anti static which prevents clogging and I doubt that it's flimsy plastic construction will last the year. Avoid.
4.0 out of 5 stars Super handy to have, a little noisy
We’ve been using this grinder for a little while now and we are both really impressed. We used to use a manual one which did the job but took ages - this is such a time saver! It’s easy to use, and has different options for coarse, fine, French press or pots which is great! The timer is really handy and easy to set so you can just leave it to do its thing, it has a little brush which makes it really easy to clean. It’s built really well too, it is a little noisy but that’s to be expected with a grinder! For the quality this is an absolute bargain and you can’t argue with it, the coffee tastes great, it’s easy to use and maintain and overall it’s really handy, we love it!
If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would.
My boss had this in the office and I was hooked after the first use. I bought one when I got home and use it everyday. This. grinder is perfect. There are grinding settings on the size to adjust the size of the grind with high precision. I run this for 5 seconds to fill a reusable k-cup in the morning, and 22 seconds to fill a 12 cup pot of coffee. I am incredibly impressed and I genuinely feel like it's a luxury that I can enjoy every morning. No more pre-ground coffee, no more loss of flavor. Just add the beans, press grind, and go. It's easy to pour, easy to clean, and exceptionally quiet compared to other electric grinds I've had. If I could give this more than 5 stars, I would.
Clean machine
This is a really good grinder. Bought it last year to replace a different brand that just succumbed and it has turned out to be reliable. Like most of these things, it's noisy. It consistently grinds all types of beans to whatever grind you prefer. Most importantly, the anti-static feature works and there is very little mess to clean. Nice machine. Would recommend .
Great Burr Grinder - Quiet, Efficient, and Large Capacity
I'm really happy with this SHARDOR Professional Conical Burr Coffee Grinder! One of the first things I noticed is how much quieter it is compared to other grinders I've owned. It operates smoothly and efficiently, delivering the ground coffee directly into the catch bin without making a mess. The large hopper capacity is also a big plus, holding a generous amount of beans.I'm very pleased with my purchase overall. It seems well-built and performs its primary function exceptionally well. The only drawback I've found is that it's not ideal for grinding large quantities of espresso. It has a 40-second limit per grinding cycle. When the time comes to replace my grinder in the future, I will definitely consider purchasing this model again.
So far, so good - and less messy!
So-far, no regrets and I love that the anti-static makes my coffee station SO much cleaner! Good quality for price. The grind is fantastic, and so far...so good! If that changes, I will amend this. The timing feature is a little odd, I would just rather push start and then it stop automatically once the beans are gone. But other than that...it is sleek, quieter than my last one, great grind, no mess!
