I read lots of true crime but this book is so much more than the reporting of a crime. It gives you a solid background into the family of the victim, and the mind and actions of the killer and his marriage. It was never boring or too in depth with unimportant statistics. It was interesting, heart-felt, tragic and inspiring.

It was interesting that it started out as just a family trying to make a living in hard times. They made it work most of the time and when they fell on hard times they stuck together but even when tragedy struck they were United and when it struck again they kept going. The murderer was a very cruel and clever person and it took years to actually convict him. Anyone who enjoys a good mystery is in for o treat If they read this book.
