Instead, it quietly and efficiently removes the pongwiffyyness without drawing attention to itself – much like a well-trained butler. I can now enter, do what needs to be done with grace, and leave without the embarrassment of olfactory offence wafting behind me like a bad reputation.My hoomans seem equally pleased. I’ve noticed a significant drop in the usual mutterings and exaggerated sighs when they clean out my tray (which is their sacred duty, after all). And if they’re happy, the treats flow like mouse gravy.It’s also good to know it's organic and planet-friendly – I do enjoy a nice sit by the window contemplating the fate of the flutterbyes.So yes, my fellow felines, if you value your privacy, your dignity, and a home that doesn’t reek of old cat-cakes, tell your hoomans to order this today. This cat litter freshener / odour neutraliser arrived in 2 re-sealable bags. On opening it I was expecting perhaps to detect a coconut aroma, but there was no scent at all. I’m not actually clear what coconut activated charcoal is (I do know that activated carbon is carbon that has been treated to be extremely porous). I guessed it might be a mixture of ground coconut shell and activated carbon but actually there is no sign of any coconut dust, just granules of carbon. Maybe the carbon is extracted from coconut shells? Perhaps it doesn’t matter!What does matter is that the substance, however it is produced, is black granules with no dust to make a mess.One of the things that attracted me to order this particular litter tray odour controller is that it is organic and ‘planet friendly’. I’m afraid that we tend to use silicate granular cat litter as it seems the best for smell containment but it is not great environmentally. Hopefully adding this product will balance this to some extent if we need to change the litter less often.Mixing a few tablespoons of this with fresh litter was very easy to do. As the granules are black and the litter is very pale it was easy to see that it was well distributed.At the current cost of £17.99 for half a kilogram (in two packets) the product isn’t cheap but neither is the silicate litter that we use, so if it extends the life of that it may pay for itself over time.For now I will give it a 4 star rating based on the above positives balanced by the cost. But I will come back to this review after we have tried it for a while either a) if we can significantly extend the odour free time between litter changes to balance the costs or b) if it doesn’t seem to have a significant effect.

I thought this was a great idea and love that’s it all natural.After recently moving house and now having to keep my two cats indoors, the idea that it could reduce the odour of cat litter was promising. However, I have spent ages this morning walking around the house trying to work out where the sudden smell of onions was coming from. The smell was quite overwhelming and not pleasant! After scouring every room to try and work out what and where the smell was and where it was coming from, I’ve finally traced it back to the anti-odour cat litter!!!! It’s horrible!I won’t be using it again and will be changing the cat litter immediately. It’s advertised as non-odour but it definitely isn’t!!

I confess I had never before heard of "Gizmo Pet Supplies Cat Litter Freshener" and as such it should come as no surprise that this is my first time using this product. We have two cats here at home and they use the litter tray. This product comes in the form of two plastic bags of 250 grams of granules, for wont of a better word. The bags are thick and sturdy and have resealable lips on them. The 'granules' that I speak of are made from activated carbon coconut shell. They seem good quality to me and by themselves they are odourless. The back of the packet states that they are dust-free too. Speaking of the back of the package, the instructions state for you to simply take 3 tablespoons of this product and mix it in with the regular cat litter.Like I said before, there is no scent from the product itself. The point is to help absorb some of the nasty smells that may begin as the cats use the tray. So far I am happy, but it remains to be seen exactly how long these positive effects last for, and how long the two bags themselves last for. As it stands the two-pack is listed at £17.95, which I have to be honest and tell you that this strikes me as being high. I do not think I would re-order personally at that price but I do not deny that my impressions of this so far have all been positive.

Well, I have followed instructions and added 3 tablespoons to a standard litter tray. The black granules are mixed in with my White litter. My cats had no objection to using the litter after I applied the granules. It’s hard to say how effective it is at reducing any odours as the litter I use is very good at absorbing odour but I will continue to use because so far I haven’t noticed any smells. The granules are odourless as well. The product is quite expensive so I think I would only purchase if the price was a a little less.
