Bringing the X-Maker Joy into the house has been a total hit, and honestly, the sheer ease of use is what makes this printer a game-changer for beginners and kids. It’s a proper 3D printer, but they’ve stripped away all the usual technical headaches. There's no bed leveling, no complex slicing settings—it's essentially one-click printing controlled entirely through the Wi-Fi app. My youngest quickly figured out how to browse the Huge Toy Library, pick a model, and send it to the machine, which is a miracle of user interface design.The safety features are excellent, giving me real peace of mind. It’s fully enclosed, which keeps little hands away from the hot components, and the printer itself is remarkably quiet. I've had it running in the living room without it being distracting, which is a serious bonus for a home environment. The built-in apps and 15+ Mini 3D Design Modules are fantastic, turning learning into a guided game. Watching my kids easily modify existing models or create new designs has been an awesome way to spark STEM interest.Despite the focus on simplicity, the print quality is surprisingly high—it produces smooth, detailed prints reliably. The flexible, magnetic build surface is easy to remove, so even the kids can safely peel off their freshly printed toy without damage. Throw in the generous set of 8 PLA Filaments to get started immediately, and it’s a brilliant, frustration-free way to introduce digital creation. It’s less of a tool and more of a personal toy factory.

Ordered this as a STEM project for my local Air Cadet sqn. I wasn't expecting much from it, but thought it would be good intro. The item arrived well packed and came supplied with a 8 spool selection of PLA filament, which is an awesome addon.Once unpacked, I started the setup proceedure.. This is not as straight forward as most 3d printers. It works similar to the setup of Alexa devices, where you hotspot, then connect to your home wifi. As this is a wifi printer, the control and printing is managed via an app on your phone or PC. One point to note is that is doesn't support chromebooks.. the android app refuses to install on these devices.So.. is it any good? well, I like the following:1/ Print quality is decent out of the box.. have tested with some christmas decs and they have come out perfectly.2/ Camera and light- the camera is lit and a camera can capture some decent time-lapse footage3/ Enclosed- the chamber is enclosed so no risk of injury etc and it's quiet in operationWhat I don't like:1/ The supplied X-Maker app is clunky.. am looking at using Cura where possible.2/ The bed isn't heated.. not a issue, but would be good3/ Build volume isn't massive 120x120x120, so you are slightly limited.4/ No display, just a multi-function led along the front which gives the status.Another point to note, the sd card slot (on mine) bbq'd two inserted cards, so avoid.All that said, the printer is a good little device. Prints were impressive out of the box and the inclusion of 8 mini reels of filament means you can get printing once unpacked. Price break is a little high considering that for the price a fully feature fdm printer can be purchased. Recommended for starting young people off on a 3d print journey, as the learning curve is slightly lower that other devices.

This printer works really well, producing smaller objects quickly and with impressive detail. It’s quiet enough to sit in her room without causing any disruption, and the Wi-Fi connectivity makes it really easy for her to control everything from a tablet or phone. The built-in camera is a nice touch, letting me check on prints without having to hover over her, and the time-lapse videos of the creations are brilliant for keeping memories of her projects.The complete set is very convenient, with 8 PLA filaments with approx. 250grams on each, pliers, a filament holder, and even a magnetic base plate—all the little extras make the whole experience smoother and more enjoyable. She loves personalising her prints and exploring the library of over 1,500 designs, which keeps things fresh and fun.The build quality feels solid, and the craftsmanship is excellent. It’s clear this is a brand that cares about the experience, not just selling a toy. The printer is beginner-friendly, safe, and reliable, which makes it perfect for kids.All in all a great value fun printer that is highly recommended for the younger generation.

I already have two 3D printers from Bambu and Creality, and this one is such a cute addition to my setup. While it’s clearly marketed for kids with its fun themes and included products, it’s actually a really clever way to get children involved in something that’s normally considered an adult hobby – and honestly, I had a blast using it myself!For me, it was super simple to set up and get going, and even someone completely new to 3D printing would find it easy and intuitive. The included filament spools are a fantastic touch, letting you print in multiple colours right out of the box. I also really like the built-in camera, which makes monitoring prints so much easier.Overall, it’s basically a scaled-down version of the big branded printers, but in no way does that mean it compromises on accuracy or printing success. The print quality is excellent, and although the build volume is smaller, it’s more than enough to have fun with. Even though it’s aimed at kids, I don’t see why an adult like me wouldn’t get full use out of it – it’s capable of producing the same results as my other printers.If you’re looking for a fun, approachable, and fully capable 3D printer, whether for kids or adults, this is a great pick. I’m really impressed with how much value and functionality they’ve packed into such a small, adorable machine.
