5.0 out of 5 stars Good basic computer
My wee laptop wouldnt take the windows upgrades despite having nothing on it. I wanted one specifically for doing things online for a charity group that I help so wasnt looking to store very much on there and this seemed to be a good option. The fact that it has Windows 11 pre-installed was a big plus for me. Its lightweight - another plus and whilst there isnt a lot of storage it is enough for my needs, the screen is good enough for what I am doing as I'm not watching sport or films (especially when the other option is using a phone!) The good thing is that as I'm not doing much to overtax it the battery life is great. I found it easy to use with limited setting up to do. If you are looking for a basic computer and understand it's limitations like the 720p webcam etc and youre not wanting to store thousands of photos that take up a lot of space then this is a good option and at the current price of £148 its good value. If you want it to be able to cope with a lot more then you need to spend much more!
4.0 out of 5 stars Slow, but some redeeming features.
As it comes out of the box it's pretty poor. It comes with Windows 11 Home pre-installed, but ran really slow, even without installing any additional applications.A quick download later and Linux was up and running on it. A world of difference. The screen is pretty poor, and no OS is going to help that, but for occasional use, especially if your needs really only extend to low demand web pages, then it's worth considering. Otherwise it's you are going to have problems if you are expecting better performance. It's cheap and it shows, but for the right demands it'll be just fine, just temper your expectations.
3.0 out of 5 stars Modern Look, Legacy Performance
First impressions are good. The build quality, finishing and detail are well done. It’s lightweight and silent in operation, thanks to the lack of cooling fans. The keyboard is responsive, albeit US specific, with decent feedback and minimal travel needed to register a key press. The mouse trackpad can be overly sensitive at times, but it generally works well. The screen is bright and surprisingly clear, although it suffers if you’re not viewing it at the right angle. Even with optimal positioning, colours on familiar websites appear slightly off and less vibrant than expected. Wi-Fi connectivity performs reliably with no apparent issues. One of the first tasks I carried out was updating Windows. However, after several back-to-back updates, the processor hit 100% usage and most of the memory was consumed. Nearly 24 hours later, the updates are still running and the final update has failed to install correctly. There’s no getting away from the fact that the processor is outdated by today’s standards, and the limited RAM doesn’t help. The 6GB installed is an odd choice, I would have expected either 4GB or 8GB in a setup like this.Installing a well-known antivirus product caused a noticeable dip in performance. To be fair, I’d consider antivirus essential these days, so it’s worth being aware that system speed will take a hit. Personally, I also use a malware tool, but I suspect this laptop might begin to lag if both were running.I can’t see this being a serious option for anyone needing to run Word, Excel and browse the web concurrently. While it’s surprisingly quick and nimble with a few browser tabs open, it doesn’t take much to push the processor or memory to their limits, and that’s when performance starts to suffer. All in all, despite its dated internals, it’s surprisingly responsive for light tasks. I’ll be using it for casual browsing and email in the evenings. But if your expectations are higher, you’re better off spending a bit more, you’ll get a noticeable jump in capability for not much extra.
5.0 out of 5 stars Portable basic laptop
The first thing I noticed about this laptop on removing it from the box was how lightweight it is. The 14 inch screen is just the right size to be able to see the screen but keep the unit compact. The laptop is very portable and will be ideal to use when having to carry it and connecting to WiFi hotspots away from home. The laptop was already charged and worked straight out of the box. The on screen set up instructions were easy to follow and I had it up and running and connected to the internet in minutes. I have installed the supplied free WPS Office software. I initially thought that I may need to upgrade and pay to install Microsoft Office but it seems to be compatible with Microsoft Office applications. The 6GB RAM is suitable for my limited domestic purposes mainly e-mails, internet shopping, checking out sports on the internet and on-line banking but more advanced users (gaming or work) may find that they need a more powerful machine. Likewise the 1366x768 HD screen is entirely adequate but the laptop I usually use has Full HD 1080p screen and gives better picture quality. The brand LEEDOW is not a company that I have heard of before. When making considered purchases, such as buying a laptop, I tend to err on the side of caution and stick to known and trusted brands even if they do attract a premium price. Having been given this opportunity to try this laptop on Bolo Vine I have no reservations about this product or brand. At £218 I think that this item is reasonably priced for a good entry level, basic laptop.
4.0 out of 5 stars It’s alright but wipe it
Very basic spec laptop! Would 100% advise to wipe this and start again as you never know what sus things are pre installedIt’s a decent admin laptop don’t expect massive things from it
5.0 out of 5 stars Good option
14″ Laptop | Dual-Core Processor | 6 GB DDR4 RAM │ 128 GB NVMe SSD │ 1366x768 Display │ Portable Computer │ USB Mous & Mini HDMI Ports.I really dislike when products are listed at an inflated price but have an absurd voucher attached to it to make it feel like a deal. This is listed at £218 but with said voucher can be bought for £154.With that in mind, I think this is a pretty good value option, it's perfect for daily tasks and light use. I wouldn't expect miracles but as long as you're a light user this is perfect.
