So I bought these to mess about with my nephew and was pleasantly surprised on opening. They look a bit cheap in the photo, but the plastic is pretty good quality and feels solid. I had no worries that it felt weak or delicate.Literally, you only need to turn them both on and they automatically connect to each other (pretty much instantly with a friendly little chime) and you see the live video of the other walkie talkie. If the other unit is switched off, you get live video of yourself with a PIP window of a graphic in place of the other units video feed. You can scroll to see just yourself from the selfie camera, or yourself with a smaller PIP window of the other devices camera, or the other camera’s video feed in the main window and yourself in the smaller PIP. Or finally just the other cameras video feed.ReceptionClaimed 150m line of sight, or 50m indoors. If used in an average sized 3 bedroom UK house these performed flawlessly. We took these out to a huge lake, park, playing fields etc and the sound and video started stuttering at around 100m. Basically, I expected more but these are for kids and 100m is more than enough (with the benefit of hindsight, you can make this choice). Also, who knows if something was affecting the signal? Drones, radio controlled cars, WiFi Bluetooth etc could potentially affect the signal/range I guess? It doesn’t mention what frequency it uses… so who knows? It could perform better in a different area?Video/Sound qualityVideo is 480p. For anyone old enough, this is exactly like the first Nokia (for instance) camera phones, when taking a video or photo. In an adult setting this is old hat technology, acceptable, but not that great. In a kids setting, and with the small screen it has, it looks absolutely fine. Sound is good, you can change the voice to a deep man voice, a robotic weird gimmicky voice that was grating tbh, neither the nephew or me used this voice. A baby voice, which kind of sounds like you’ve breathed in helium. And also your own normal voice. The thing I found was there is a second delay between devices, even when stood next in to each other, and also after speaking you have to hold the ‘speak’ button for a split second after speaking to make sure everything you said has been transmitted. A lot of times if you’re too quick to release that button, the last word you said is cut off at the other end. Sound can go pretty loud, again that’s not a concern.Battery lifeOut of the box it took around an hour to charge.In the 8 hour day I spent with my nephew, using them lots but turning them off at times too, the battery strength was reading only 1bar gone, out of 4. So that’s excellent and I was impressed.Button qualityThe buttons feel good. No crunch/flimsy buttons like it’s poor quality, or the buttons will break with enough pressure applied. Basically you need not worry about the quality.ConclusionIt was absolutely what I wanted and expected. I would definitely recommend these. Everyone who saw them interested and then very impressed with them, saying that had never seen anything like these and would look to buy them themselves (for their kids obviously lol).Recommended!

The grandchildren really loved these. We took the set on holiday after charging them at home first. They charged quickly and it was just a matter of turning them on. The picture is surprisingly good and better than the walkie talkies that they have already.Would make a lovely gift and so easy to use.Highly recommended
