This prepaid USA eSIM gives 30 days of 20GB 5G data. I had issues activating it though, and reading other reviews it seems I'm not the only one.Being an eSIM it is data only, meaning no voice calls or text messages, but you can use apps like WhatsApp or Facebook messenger (for example) to make voice calls.

It was a good idea in theory. The price was better than the roaming package I was looking at, I always take an iPhone with me to the US anyway as that has the best coverage and iPhones can take an e-sim, I was promised immediate delivery of a QR code. What can go wrong?Well, I did not receive a QR code either be Bolo message or email, only a printed document which said that I will. Fret not! You can also go to their website, put in your details and get the QR code! Well, that didn't work either. So I had to contact support. To their credit they did send me the QR code which installed easily by using the camera on it.However, the instructions say it will activate automatically on arrival, and yet it sort of looks like activated to me already. I have not switched on roaming on it for fear that's what will trigger it and expire before I travel to the US, but the whole process in general has not inspired confidence, so I am thinking of having a backup plan.

There are lots of options available and at around £28 for a 30 day / 20GB bundle, this particular E-SIM will be cheaper than using a UK network in the USA for most people.It's very important to be sure that your phone supports this product - many older phones and a lot of android phones still in use do not support E-SIMs so you will need to find a physical SIM option instead.It's also worth noting that there are some cheaper options (including from firms you might have heard of) so this is a product that's worth shopping around for to make sure you are getting a good price.
