My son is autistic and non-verbal, so I thought I’d give this AAC device a go to support his communication. It looks really good and feels sturdy, with clear buttons that are easy to press and programme. He usually takes a while to get used to new things, especially when it comes to speech aids or sensory tools, but so far so good – he’s shown some interest, and that’s a great start for us. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on how he gets on with it over time and may update this review in a few weeks or months once he’s had more of a chance to explore it properly. A really promising tool for those with additional communication needs.

It works as well as you'd expect.The button-presses and audio output are identical to any typical Play-A-Sound book.The audio output is good enough, and clear enough for the pre-recorded phrases; but nothing amazing.The manufacturing feels very cheap-plastic-y and lightweight. It strikes me as very the sort of thing that would be very easy to break with even a minor accident.The ability to record phrases and replay them is nice, and useful given the product's intended usage: But the microphone quality is poor, so the playback fidelity is significantly worse than the pre-programmed phrases.It's hard to know how well any individual non-verbal child will be able to make use of it, given the wide variability in how autism can present.I can imagine it being invaluable for an autistic child with the precise combination of linguistic aptitude and non-verbal traits that it is intended to help with; and momentarily useful for a load more who are working through a period where they're struggling with the beginnings of speech.But I can also see it being redundant for a whole load more whose issues stem from problems with language in a more general sense rather than speech specifically.

Delivered in its own branded boxInside the box sat in a blue velvet drawstring bag sits this autism communication slate , it takes 3 button batteries which are suppliedOn the back there is an on off switch .The front of the tablet has a speaker at the bottom and push button pads which describe feelings and emotions .The sound quality is really good .I ordered this for a friend's little girl who is autistic and has trouble communicating , I'm hoping that it helps both her and her mum .This slate is made from a child friendly durable ABS plastic , so it's quite sturdy and can take being dropped .Priced at £19.99 it's excellent value for money.

This is a great item, great value for money, easy to use, and with its well-built construction, this is already proving to be a simple but powerful communication tool for our young and selective mute recipient.Perfect for young children with anxiety disorders, this communication tool matches the description perfectly and meets all requirements for both home and structured environments.Lightweight, portable, easy to carry around, and quite simply, there is very little not to like about this product.The audio is more than adequate for my recipient's age, and it's fair to say that the quality of the recordings is also more than adequate for its current low price point.Simple to use, clear communication, this handy little device will allow my recipient to be more independent in making his needs and wants known.Overall, I'm happy and confident that this will undoubtedly be a wonderful communication device for the whole family.It’s simple, functional, and affordable, and I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a basic communication aid.Due to all of the above, I thank you for the opportunity to try this product, and I'm very happy to recommend thisKidBloom AAC Communication Device!
