M.B.R.W. · 5 November 2025

Good memories of 34 years ago. The long awaited yearbook of a chilling year where all songs were distinctive with a piano breakdown. On this album we loose the controversial Let's talk about sex and I'm to Sexy But gain I want to sex you up. The quiz is very taxing look out for it's grim up north and wiggle it and the stonk on the extra. Also contains many forgotten gems that didn't make now 20. The one and only, shoop shoop song, Jacky, Charly, winter in July, more than words and many more This was the last year of only two serial albums meaning fewer tracks in this category are noticeable from 1992 onwards.

3.0 out of 5 stars where were the other hits?

R.T.S. · 1 November 2025

A very poor selection indeed. But pleased to see Lisa Stansfield, Saint Etienne, Beverley Craven. Marc Almond & Cathy Dennis on here.

Right, let’s get all the mistakes out of the way first, and there seem to be more than usual in this Yearbook.CD 1 appears to be error free 🙌. CD 3 includes the album version of Love Rears Its Ugly Head, rather than the funkier Soul Power Mix that was released as the A side of the single and CD 4 features the longer album version of The Postman Song.CD 2 has the most mistakes. Go and Charly are back-to-back remixes rather than the versions everyone would be familiar with and the final track on this disc is the Freeze Mix of I Wanna Sex You Up rather than the 7” A side. Now for a bit of good news. Track 11 on CD 2 is the 7” version, rather than the Legendary Mix that pops up on most compilations, so props for that.Overall, still too many errors in licensing the correct versions, but good to have the rarely compiled 7” mix of Insanity.

One of the best Yearbook compilations so far. Most of the major hits from the year are featured, a couple of omissions, but nothing too noticeable when there are this many hits packed in.Some nice inclusions, such as Spending My Time by Roxette and Summer Rain by Belinda Carlisle. I don’t think there’s a single track that I dislike. If you’re not too snooty about the occasional album version as opposed to the radio edit then you’ll be just fine.
