Item received in good condition and well packaged. It seams that matcha is all the rage recently and my wife and teenage daughters love drinking it and often have it instead of coffee or juice and so I thought it would be good if they had there own set and were able to create their own matcha drinks.Its a handy home set up kit and comes with the four main items you require. Then simply add your own matcha and they have been using different recipes they have found on social media and then experimenting with them.I really like the bowl as its very practical especially with the pouring spout and it does have that very traditional Japanese feel to it. Likewise the wooden bamboo whisk looks very much the part and is very practical and useful for mixing. This is a really good starter set if you are enjoying drinking matcha and want to experiment and enjoy them at home.

Bleary-eyed at six in the morning, I usually whisk matcha on autopilot. This chawan changes the routine. Hand-thrown from mineral-rich clay, the bowl has a faint gritty feel under the glaze that reminds me of river stones warmed by the sun. In my not especially long nurse’s hands it sits snugly, solid without feeling like a kettlebell.The glaze fades from rust orange to a milky white, rather like the sky above Glasgow when the rain forgets to turn up. After a fortnight of bright green tea it has not taken on the slightest tint, a small mercy when you are too sleepy to scrub.Functionally it behaves well. The broad base lets my bamboo whisk dance about without flicking foam at the tiles or, more importantly, at the dog who insists on supervising breakfast. The tall walls trap heat, keeping the drink warm for longer, though they do force you to tilt the bowl almost horizontal to capture the final mouthful, looking a bit ridiculous in the process. If you fancy crisps or a handful of raspberries later in the day, the chawan moonlights as a snack bowl, but do not be tempted to reheat leftovers in it, because the interior scorches alarmingly in the microwave. A quiet hand wash is wiser, my dishwasher left faint scuff marks that will probably haunt me for years.Build quality feels stout, the glaze catches the eye without shouting, and the silhouette does exactly what a matcha bowl ought to do. It is not flawless, yet the small quirks make it feel alive, and that is why it has earned a permanent space on my cluttered mug shelf.

This matcha set is absolutely gorgeous! The pink and orange gradient bowl is even more beautiful in person—solid, smooth, and just the right size for whisking. The whisk is excellent quality, and I love that it comes with a holder to keep its shape.Everything feels well-made and thoughtfully packed, and it came in such a lovely box—ready for gifting. I bought it for myself but I’ll definitely be ordering another as a gift. If you enjoy making matcha or want to start, this is a stylish, complete starter set that doesn’t disappoint.

This ceramic chawan, freckled with mineral specks, feels too elegant for my Sheffield kitchen. Nevertheless, it survives the morning mayhem of two lively children and a nosy spaniel. The glaze fades from a bold tangerine base to clean white at the rim, so each whisking session resembles a miniature sunset, minus the midges you meet in Glasgow.The wide twelve-centimetre mouth and tall sides let the bamboo whisk do its work, and a creamy micro-foam forms in under half a minute. At around 380 grams on my scales, the bowl has satisfying heft without feeling like a brick.Craftsmanship is generally impressive. My main gripe is the unglazed foot ring – the rough edge left faint scratches on a pine shelf. The rim could be slimmer for direct sipping, and its capacity suits only one person, so sharing requires a second bowl.Even so, the blend of beauty, thoughtful proportions and solid durability justifies the indulgence; file down that foot and it would be close to perfection.
