Let's start with obvious in terms of use:1. Buttons!!!I'm an adult and while +/- are fairly ok, the top 3 buttons - I have no idea what they suppose to do as they're completely unreadable.It would be so much better if they were different colours. And, if this is for children as young as 4, I don't think a 4 yo would be able to 'read' the symbols in top row.I guess doing it all in one colour means less production costs but come on, that is definitely not good.2. The claim' Designed for children ages 3+, the miniscope is simple and intuitive.' - believe me, there's nothing intuitive about it, mostly because of unreadable buttons. And not for 3+.Then it refers to children 8-12 age so I'm seriously confused - 4 to 12 or 8 to 12 r 3+?I'm mentioning it as I think getting the age bracket right is rather important for anyone who wants to buy it.3. Use/handlingIt works best if not moved around or looking into immovable objects. Watching bees or live flowers doesn't fall into this category as it is difficult to adjust sharpness while holding it.The above are my objections.The fun part:1. Really good zooming capabilities - to the point it is scary. Real scary.2. 200 images internal memory plus capability of external SD card (must be micro SD)3. Once you get a hang on of this - or a child - these are hours of fun!Solid 4 stars - would be 5 if they'd address the buttons issue.Lanyard and USB C/A provided with manual. Easy to offload the internal memory pictures too.I'm rather amazed but it is a fun if you have stable objects as balance is needed to hold it properly and find the centre.Good current price at £25.99 (regular £35.99)In attached pictures: buttons, my sheet - probably can do thread counting with this zoom!, pet's blanket (no moving creatures, phew!), taken with my phone picture of thistle hook hence bad quality, and the last one - thistle's hook using the microscope.Really impressive stuff.

I am so happy with this microscope for kids. I am very impressed with how well this works! The magnification and the screen are fantastic, and they make exploring the microscopic world an absolute joy.The design is brilliant because it's so easy for a child to use. You just long-press to turn it on and twist the wheel to focus, which means a child can get straight to the fun without any frustration. The 8 LED lights and the built-in storage for photos are also excellent features that encourage them to explore and document their discoveries.This is more than just a toy; it's a great tool for sparking a child's curiosity and turning playtime into a fun learning adventure. It’s perfect for exploring everything from bugs and leaves to coins and hair. I highly recommend it for any young, aspiring scientist!

This is a cracking educational toy which has really opened up a new world for my grandsons (7 and 10). Actually it is much more scientific instrument than toy and they now love taking it with us on nature walks in order to discover life at the microscopic level. It is a really powerful tool and the screen is more than adequate to provide a detailed picture of whatever sparks their curiosity, The ability to save to a memory card is super useful too as they can then view on a laptop or TV in macro size. Altogether a fabulous and well thought out item which has proved the big hit of the summer holidays so far.

This has been a fascinating little object to have around. It’s surprisingly capable for its size. I've taken it out into the garden and looked at leaves, insects, and soil, and the level of detail it reveals is quite remarkable. The built-in screen is the best part; it means you don't have to squint through a tiny eyepiece, and it's clear enough to make out all the fine details easily. It's light enough to carry in a pocket without any bother. It has sparked a real sense of curiosity, turning a simple walk into an exploration. It feels robust enough to handle being used by an enthusiastic child without fear of it breaking. It’s a wonderful way to get a closer look at the world around us, and it works straight out of the box.

This is a really nice microscope which will be good for children and adults ! It’s easy to use and the rotary focusing is smooth and progressive so it’s easy to get good clear images on the 2” screen. It has 3 magnification settings which are easy to adjust with the + & - buttons.It’s fairly lightweight but well made so it’ll be easy for children to hold and use. It can take a small memory card as well as having a built in memory storage.It can be charged with the supplied lead using your own 5v 1amp phone charger or from a laptop via the usb lead.Two minor niggles, firstly there doesn’t seem to be any setting to set the date and time, also it won’t connect directly to an iPad so if you want to put images or video on an iPad to need to install a micro Sd card into the microscope and after taking pictures or videos take out the card and use a card reader to look at them.I don’t have a windows device but apparently it will connect directly to a windows laptop and you can download or view live images on it.Overall this is a lovely portable microscope which works very well and will make children want to examine the microspic world around them

Amazing! I am blown away by the magnification of this device! I was not expecting it to be so powerful and easy to use! I charged it up as directed and started using it! I plan on using it on coins to see errors, but it can be used on ANYTHING...AND IT WOULD BE A FANTASTIC GIFT FOR A CHILD OR AN ADULT! WOW! Cannot say enough about this product!

The media could not be loaded. I bought one for a gift for my Nephew but ended playing with it until he left. I had so much fun that I had to buy myself one. The picture and screen are so much more clear than my phone camera can focus on. It's a very clear detailed screen. I found these shells of bugs on my ficus tree that looked like a small white piece of fuzz or dust. Couldn't believe they were insect shells. I use this to look at EVERYTHING... and best part is you don't have to try to squint one eyeball into an eyepiece. You get a clear screen to view and can slide it along surfaces as you look around. You can even snap pics on the screen to look at later, although little kids would struggle to get a clear Pic because the slightest movement will unfocus the screen. Best money ever spent. You'll have so much fun!
Temporary toy, I used more than the kid
Easy to use item. The functionality and age appropriateness does not match though. It does show super interesting things on the skin, money or fabrics but that’s it, it is boring for kids, it was more fun for me. One problem, it does have to be flat against the item to work not held away and any bug over 3mm, you will not be able to see. You will be able to see a leg or eye clearly but you cannot zoom out to see the rest.
