I was fortunate to receive this Own1one Flower Arts Craft kit via the Bolo Vine programme - Thank You.I chose it for my Granddaughter’s aged 12 & 9 yrs as I thought it would be ideal for the Summer holidays.I wasn’t wrong, as soon as they saw the kit this morning, they couldn’t wait to start and spent a couple of hours thoroughly enjoying themselves, designing their own pretty flowers.The kit contains everything needed to create 15 flowers and 2 butterflies and includes instructions (a video is on the brand listing too) a packet of iridescent fabric pieces, a pack of stamens, wooden stems, poke sticks and even a DIY wooden vase. (although one of the side pieces was missing in our set, but the vase could still be assembled and used) Something to bare in mind, the wooden vase, although easy to construct, the wood is quite fragile, especially the smaller of the three circular pieces, as this has a narrower edge as well as cut outs for maintaining the structure of the vase, unfortunately a small piece broke off, but we were still able to complete the vase and it is still as sturdy.The flowers are easy to design, each piece of fabric is pushed into the pre cut holes, using the poke stick. Once complete the stamens and stems are added, with a stopper pushed onto the stem to secure the flower. These stoppers are small, and as we all know if younger children are present, they could be a hazard!Overall it is a lovely set, perfect for the age range and above, it would be perfect for a child with additional needs, as it is so easy to make and design a flower. Great for developing hand/ eye coordination, fine motor skills and building confidence and self esteem. Although we had a couple of issues with the vase, I don’t think it warrants deducting a star, as this could purely be a one off! Best of all there is a finished product at the end - a vase of beautiful flowers and butterflies to adorn any room!

I think it’s not too out of reach to say my daughter is currently “addicted” to these craft sets.They are so effective. They remind me a bit of the effect you would get glueing little screwed up balls of tissue paper onto a collage. Except, better!This felt like 2 craft sets in one getting to make the vase as well.Not quite finished yet but the foam grips the material square tightly, yet easy to press in.If you’ve not tried one of these sets, just go for it. They’re easy, tidy and really effective!

The creative gene runs down my mother's side of the family and the latest one to have inherited it is my 5 year old great niece. She loves drawing and making things so will be delighted when I ask her to create a lovely bouquet for me
