Decent e-ink device for reading manga

I have been looking for a better option for a music reading device, and was hoping this boox device might be it. It is supposed to have a very sharp 300 dpi screen in black and white, which should be ideal for music, and being E-ink it should work well in all lighting. My initial reaction to the display is ..it's OK. Music is legible, but the resolution is decidedly less sharp than my Surface pro 8. I assumed I was seeing the color resolution of 150 ppi and looked for a way to run the tab x c in black and white. I could find no option to do that even though the box and product promotion clearly state the higher resolution. While the shape and weight of the Boox is quite good for music, 150 dpi doesn't really pop. Nor does the screen seem much easier to read in better lighting as my Kindle is. The glass front. while not as reflective as a typical tablet, is still prone to some glare. Another issue is there is no screen rotation on this tablet. The pictures on Bolo clearly show it working in landscape mode, but there is no auto rotation and a search of the settings finds nothing for landscape or rotation. That negates its use as a two-page e-reader which would have been my other big use for it. Another minus is there is no manual particular to the device, just a general one for other Boox devices. The pen seems to work ok, but has no eraser. That was remarkably ill-considered and negates its practical use as a note taking device. My Surface is far superior for that purpose. As a tablet, it is OK, but just about any cheap tablet is far better.I have submitted my issues to Onyx, but haven't heard back yet. This could be a good tablet for my niche uses, but I if I don't hear from Onyx it's going back. If you're a musician, I would encourage you to wait until these issues are resolved.

The media could not be loaded. Not everyone needs the size, and not everyone needs color. But this is the device I've been waiting for for several years, and it's better than I could have expected.Color doesn't compare to LCD/OLED, and needs light/frontlight to shine. But it also, unlike those devices, doesn't get blown out by the sun. You can read textbooks or comics outside regardless of lighting conditions, and that's what ereaders are for.Being Android means most Android apps, which adds a large amount of functionality vs dedicated competitors. This does result in the need to adjust display settings based on how you use each app, but it's well worth it, and the guide on first launch shows you how.I wanted to show it trying actual video, which is impressive with all things considered (not good enough to actually use as a real video device. This is for static content ), but it will only let me do one video.
