Very very strong magnet. Don't let them touch each other. I ordered the smaller size just because they are so powerful. And its great. Does what I wanted without being even stronger buying the bigger one.

The magnets are too strong in my opinion. You have to be careful or the magnet flies across the tank and crashes into the glass with force. Definitely do not get a fish or a finger caught in between. Once it is in place, it works well at removing algae. The blade is a bit of a gimmick though. I prefer using a bladed pole.It is a good size pad so it makes short work of a large tank face. I like that it floats if it detaches. That makes it easier to retrieve without getting soaked.

TL:DR Don't buy it? The magnet is really strong. There is a variant of this exact product with a far more substantial handle on the side that stays outside the tank, which makes it somewhat easier to separate the two magnets. As it is it's an accident waiting to happen.Once you get the two halves apart a piece of card will fall out. If you then stick the magnets together without the card you are now pulling against both a strong hook and loop affect AND the magnetic affect. I hope you ate your Wheetabix.You put the rougher half with the blade into the tank then CAREFULLY bring the other half to the glass to stick them together with the glass in between. Again, without that more substantial handle on the dry side magnet you better hope your grip doesn't slip and the dry half crashes into your glass.So, hazards aside, it actually works really well once you have it safely in the tank (and you are going to go through that same risky manoeuvre three more times for the other sides of the tank, probably). Like, ridiculously well.Now, I wasn't aware of the better design (which I think superseded this older design entirely, though I could be wrong there) before using this but was sufficiently befuddled by how strong the magnet was that I did an online search and saw listings and videos for the design with the chunky handle. It makes far more sense to buy that considering how regularly you're going to be using it.

The media could not be loaded. Straight out the box, one half of the magnet case came away from the other half, it hadn't been bonded together at all, so a quality control issue.I superglued it myself and it's fixed now.The magnet is really very powerful, it can magnetise through 1/4" thick glass very easily and works great at removing algae from the inside of the tank. It has velcro hooks and loops so the hooks act as a scouring pad and helps remove algae along with the scraper blade. I didn't have any need for the scraper blade so removed it and just use the pad to clean the glass.You can use this for other jobs not just a fish tank. If you need a magnetised pad for cleaning the outside of windows you can't reach etc, you could wrap a cloth around it and spray window cleaner on the cloth and wipe it around from the inside.Would recommend checking the casings are sealed before use, as if they aren't and water gets inside you will need to get it out before resealing it. Good product with multiple uses, very strong magnets, easy to use and hold in hand.

Very strong magnet. Recently, I stuck two different magnets together (I use these to attach my car cover to my car) and I made the mistake of 'storing' these together lol. So having learned new skills I knew not to store these together and handle slowly lol. Works well at cleaning, my tank is too small really to use the blade with the way the lid angles us, but sturdy and cleans well.
