This is a great starter or replacement decorating set. Everything is included that you need to paint a basic room. The bamboo roller is not too heavy and is comfortable to use. The 2 medium pile roller sleeves leave a smooth finish and the cutting in tape is excellent: no bleeding of paint or pulling paint off when removing. The paint stirrer is a nice touch too. The paint tray is biodegradable which i was happy about. It is advertised as reusable which it is to a point although it is quite flimsy compared to traditional trays so will likely have a very limited life.In conclusion, i am happy with this set. It is certainly fit for purpose and reasonably prices for what is included.

I picked up the Hemway Premium Decorating Tools Bamboo Paint Roller Kit Set to tackle a weekend wall refresh, and it’s a mixed bag of eco-friendly vibes and practical painting! This set comes with a 9” bamboo paint roller, two mid-pile 9” roller sleeves, a 9” biodegradable paint tray, 50m of painters tape, and a bamboo paint stirrer—basically everything to get rolling on a room makeover. The bamboo roller handle feels sturdy and sustainable, giving off that “I’m saving the planet” glow, and the mid-pile sleeves did a solid job spreading emulsion paint evenly on my living room walls—no streaks, which is a win for a DIYer like me. The biodegradable tray is a nice touch; I didn’t feel guilty tossing it after a messy session, and the 50m painters tape gave me crisp edges around my windows (though I wasted half of it untangling my dog from it—oops). The bamboo stirrer was handy for mixing paint, but I probably could’ve just used a stick from the garden.Now, the downsides. The roller sleeves shed a bit of fuzz on the first pass, leaving me picking lint off my freshly painted wall—annoying! The tray, while eco-friendly, felt flimsy and cracked after one use, so “reusable” might be a stretch. The bamboo handle got slippery with paint splatter, making it a bit awkward to grip after an hour, It’s marketed as a “premium” set, but it feels more mid-tier—decent for a quick job, but don’t expect pro-level gear. Still, it got the job done, and I felt a bit greener using it—I’d give it a 3.5 out of 5. Good for a casual paint project, but don’t expect it to survive a full house reno!

This roller kit made my weekend painting project go a lot smoother.The 9″ roller fits perfectly in the tray, and the sleeves hold just enough paint for even coverage on my living room walls.The bamboo handle feels solid and comfortable in hand, and swapping out sleeves was quick when one got clogged.I used the included tape to get clean edges around the trim, and the stirrer stick mixed the paint without splashes.Cleanup was easy, just a rinse under the tap and the roller sleeves came clean.An all‑in‑one set that helped me get a neat, professional looking finish.

I have used 4" rollers before, they are great for small areas or for getting into tight corners and so on. This kit includes a roller frame with a bamboo handle, a sugarcane tray, four rollers and a bamboo stirrer. The whole kit comes in a cardboard box with the contents wrapped in plastic film and a cardboard sleeve, unnecessary given the cardboard box, especially for an 'eco' product.The frame feels nice and solid and the bamboo handle is comfortable to hold, the tray feels rather flimsy and the fact that it can be composted is rather spoiled as it can't be once it has been used, I am also not sure how many uses it would survive before it dissolves or splits. The bamboo stirrer is ok, bit a bit short for anything but very small paint pots. The rollers are generic synthetic ones that can be bought anywhere very cheaply. This brings me to my other issue, this kit is priced at twice the price of others, I do find it irritating that we are expected to pay such a premium for 'eco' products, it shouldn't cost the earth to save the earth!

This paint set feels well-made, sturdy, and practically designed, nothing cheap or flimsy about it. There are no oddly plasticky parts or chemical smells either.The bamboo roller handle has a smooth, sanded finish and a lovely natural grain. It feels solid and well-balanced in the hand; it does not flex when pressed down, and the grip is comfortable (not overly thin or too lightweight). It also accepts an extension pole from the base.The metal frame holding the roller is firmly fixed, with no wobble or give. The roller sleeves have a consistent, plush pile, with no bald spots or rough patches, and they do not shed fibres. That said, they do not appear to be reusable. They give the impression they would flatten or fall apart after a few washes, so I treated them as single-use.The sugarcane tray feels more like moulded fibreboard or compostable plastic, certainly not flimsy like a takeaway box. It held up well when filled with paint, with no warping. The ridges for rolling off excess paint are firm and well-defined. Since I used water-based paint I was able to rinse and dry the tray afterwards. I reckon I will get another three to five uses out of it, it is surprisingly robust.The stirring stick is smooth to the touch with no rough edges or splinters. It feels strong and flat, does not bend easily, and has a wide surface that makes stirring even and effective.All in all, the set is comfortable and convenient to use: lightweight, easy to manoeuvre, and with minimal paint waste. I would happily use it again for touch-ups and smaller surface areas like door frames, windowsills, or stencilling, where a full-size roller would just get in the way.

This Hemway bamboo painting kit contains everything you need to tackle any painting project around your home. It contains a 9" paint roller, 2x9" roller sleeves, a 1.5" cutting in paint brush, painters tape, a stir stick, a 12' plastic drop sheet, and a 9" paint tray.For the eco-friendly crowd, the paint roller and paint brush have very good quality bamboo handles and the paint stir stick is also bamboo. The paint tray is also made from biodegradable reusable sugarcane. The roller sleeves are also reusable if using latex paint.I have used all of the items for some personal painting projects at home. These included bedrooms, a bathroom, and a hallway so I feel I have been able to give them a good workout. Note that I only used latex paint. The paint roller worked very well. It rolls smoothly and as with any other quality paint roller, it allows for an extension pole to be inserted into the handle. The roller sleeves are a medium pile that worked very well for the smooth walls I was working with. They may work for slightly textured walls as well. The cutting in brush is truly what I consider a cutting in brush. It is a decent size at 1.5", but I appreciate that it is an angled brush which I much prefer for cutting in. It also performed like other premium brushes I have used in that it applied paint smoothly without streaks. The painters tape worked well. It did not allow paint to bleed underneath and it removed nicely without pulling dried paint from walls or trim. The plastic drop sheet is quite thin so not sure how long it will last, but it is nice to have if you do not currently have any drop sheets as it allows you to get to work immediately.The paint brush, paint roller, and even the stir stick are easily cleaned if you use latex paint and clean the items as soon as you are done painting. The roller sleeves also clean up quiet well. I can see cleaning the roller sleeves for a few paintings, but I'm not sure I would count on them for long term use. Having said that, I generally don't use roller sleeves once I am done with them. Once the painting project is done, I usually throw them away. With these ones, I can clean them and re-use them for longer periods. The paint tray also cleans up easily so it can be reused, but this is not a rigid paint tray. Although this one works well if you don't have a paint tray, I prefer to use a metal tray as it more rigid and feels more solid.This is an excellent set for your own painting projects, but it is such a well packaged and good quality set that it would make a great gift if you have friends or family members who are planning some painting projects or if you get invited to a painting party to help out a friend.I really like this set and would recommend it if you are looking for a complete set to tackle painting rooms in your home.

I put the Hemway Premium Bamboo Paint Roller Kit to the test while prepping a couple of rooms in my home for summer guests. Over the past few months, this kit has proven to be a useful tool for anyone looking to give their space a fresh look. The setup was quick, taking just a few minutes to read the instructions and assemble the pieces. The 9-inch roller fits comfortably in the hand, making it easy to cover large areas without too much effort. The kit comes with two mid-pile sleeves, which I appreciated because they handled both smooth and slightly textured surfaces well. I tackled everything from walls to ceiling edges, and the results looked professional without requiring a pro’s skill set. The accompanying tray is handy and holds the paint nicely, reducing spills and mess. I also used the mixing stirrer to make sure my paint was blended perfectly. One downside I noticed was that after some use, the sleeves began to show signs of wear, which could discourage frequent painters looking to achieve flawless results. The kit, and included components, first and foremost, is beautiful - the roller, as expected, being the star of the package. The bamboo handle, and included roller covers are top notch quality, and the budget options (of which I am a frequent purchaser) pale in comparison. Paint rolls on far more smoothly and uniformly, and my hand got far less tired/uncomfortable using the roller, even at extended lengths of time.The inclusion of the stir stick is nice, as I occasionally forget to grab one from the hardware store - but I wouldn't really see it as one part of a 'premium kit', more as a 'thoughtful add', as you do virtually always get one or more whenever/wherever you buy your paint, for free.As others have mentioned, the idea behind the paint tray is fantastic - love, love, love eco-friendly products (even just to see companies trying new things in this regard), but I don't know about the longevity, and due to the makeup, it is a little flimiser than one might like, in a 'premium' kit. Sort of like the difference between a paper straw and plastic one (though not THAT bad).In all, at this price ($49.99 at time of posting), it's on the higher end of things, but not crazy. I've seen many a brush for $29.99, and that's just for the brush alone (and I've seen ones priced even higher than that).So, if you're tired of the cheapest plastic trays, with the cheapest brushes and rollers to boot, I'd honestly consider giving this a try. Made for a really pleasant painting experience for us. Would order again.

I got these because we were repainting the bedroom, and we only had one roller. In the end, I basically just used this one roller anyway.The set came with two roller hands, the roller itself, some painting, tape, and the roller paint reservoir whatever you call it. Oh, and it did have a stirring stick.The paint reservoir was definitely made of recyclable materials or it had that feel. Not plastic. So I went ahead and used our one that we already had. I’m sure it would work well, but I had a much more sturdy one so I decided to use that. It is not meant to attach to a ladder like most of the plastic or metal ones. The roller itself is fine. It did have a different size of roller brushes than the other ones we had. I’m not sure the size so you might wanna just look out on that just in case.But the main thing is, did it work well? And it did. I use the roller it attached well to my extendable stick, and it painted fine. I don’t have as much experience with rollers, so there might be something somebody else doesn’t like about it, but for me, it did the job. Just did two coats and it looks great.
