The XM5s are a massive improvement in that regard. Super light on the head, no pressure even after wearing them for hours. The redesign means the cups don’t clamp as hard, and I barely notice I’ve got them on, even compared to my AirPods Max which I thought were already comfy.The sound quality is excellent straight out of the box, really rich and detailed, and you can tweak it further with the EQ in the app. The noise-cancelling is just as strong as my Bose QuietComforts, maybe even slightly better in some situations, and it adapts well depending on what’s going on around you. I’ve used them in noisy public transport and while working at home, and they do a great job of removing distractions.Call quality is clear, and people can hear me well even when I’m outside. The battery life is reliable, I’ve charged them once and got through several long workdays and commutes without worrying. The included soft case is compact but still feels protective, and it holds the folded-flat design neatly.Overall, Sony really nailed it here. They’ve improved on the comfort and portability without losing what made the previous versions so good. Highly recommend if you want premium ANC headphones that are easy to wear all day.

The XM5 are the 2022 model; they have recently been superseded by the 2025 XM6.The Left Ear Cup has some physical buttons to power on the headphones>to engage ANC/Ambient Sound>3.5mm port. The XM5 comes with a 3.5mm cable if you prefer to use a 3.5 mm connection rather than Bluetooth.The XM5 does not fold up smaller when not in use. The XM5 comes with a large zip-up bag in which you can pop the headphones in, and make them easy to take with you.The XM5 have touch sensors on the right and left cups various taps will control the volume etc.For full control of your Headphones, you will need to install the Sony Sound Connect app.There is a ton of customisation you can do in the app from enabling voice assistant,to using a preset equialiser or a custom one of your own with the 5 band equliaser I left it on default.The Earcups are very well cushioned and are very comfortable, the headband is easy to adjust to fit your head snugly, and the foam cushioning makes them very comfortable on your head.To test the headphones' SQ, I use my subscription to Bolo Music, now you can set up in the app to connect with Bolo Music, but I prefer not to.The bass response of the XM5 is excellent, the bass is nicely clipped, powerful but not overpowering, whilst leaving plenty of room for the Mid And high frequencies to express themselves.Vocals and instruments are delivered with great detail and clarity, with a lovely crispness to vocals.The ANC is superb; it blocks out any outside noise, and as long as you want seclusion, it's perfect.You can, of course, turn it off and use an ambient setting if you wish to integrate with outside noise, when you require.Pros... Fit...Comfort...Ease of set up...Sound Quality...Touch Sensors work well...ANC...Codec'sCons... The app tries to do too much... Price ... £20 difference for XM6.I have scored the Headphones on their performance rather than price, as the newer XM6 costs £399 and you can get the XM5 for less than the RRP of the XM5SA.

These are a pair of Sony WH-1000XM5SA noise cancelling wireless headphones, which arrive with a soft case, a USB-A to USB-C charging cable and a 3.5mm audio cable, in a sturdy branded cardboard box that gives a decent unboxing experience.I absolutely love these. They are well-made and feel like a quality item from the second you take them out of the box. They are lightweight, supremely comfortable and you can wear them for hours with no issues at all, even if you wear glasses. The controls are simple and responsive with a combination of a couple of buttons, but mainly taps and swipes for track choice, play, pause, and volume, all of which became second nature within the first hour of wearing them. The noise cancelling is exceptional, and without a doubt is the best that I’ve ever tried. Bluetooth connects swiftly and I found it to be stable even when moving from room to room.I initially used the headphones as is, out of the box, and they were fantastic. I have my own playlist of test songs, some of which are difficult due to the range that they have, but they were crystal clear and precise through these. If for some reason you are against using apps, or just don't want to, these will deliver without question. If you do want to use the Sony app, you will get something extra and customisation options.My headphones arrived with some charge, and I always take that to be a good sign as they’ve held onto that charge from the factory. The battery life is supposed to last for 30 hours, but I’m way beyond that and there’s plenty left. Charging is quick and efficient. I only want to use the headphones around the house, so the soft case isn’t a problem for me, but it wouldn’t be ideal if you wanted to use these out and about, but keep them safe. Generally, I prefer not to have to pay for things that I’m unlikely to use, such as a hard case, but given the cost of these, I would expect there to be one included.At the time of writing this review the cost is £379.00 and as good as these are, it does feel expensive for what you get, and I was sorely tempted to knock a star off, but I just couldn't do it. Happy to recommend.

Es menos glamurosa y parece mas bien ecofriendly al ser de tipo de carton reciclado. Sinceramente, es algo que no me preocupa. Dentro de la misma encontramos los auriculares dentro de una funda suave con cremallera, por lo que pierde su estuche semirrígido respecto a la versión original o inicial. Por otro lado tenemos un cable de carga USB-C (algo corto para mi gusto) y un cable jack para emplear este dispositivo sin hacer uso de su bateria ni del bluetooth, ademas de diversa documentación.🎧 Su diseño es simplemente igual al WH-1000XM5, y a mi me agradan mucho. Los materiales son plásticos solidos, y con muy buenos acabados. No son plegables como podemos ver en otros modelos de Sony, pero las copas giran de forma limitada sobre su eje, lo que facilita el almacenamiento en la bolsa sin apenas ocupar espacio, y por otro lado ayuda con la adaptación a la cabeza de cada usuario. Por supuesto las copas tambien son extensibles por ambos lados de la diadema, la cual esta convenientemente acolchada y revestida con piel sintética, al igual que las almohadillas. Son increíblemente comodos y livianos, los mas comodos que he probado nunca, y he probado y tengo bastantes auriculares, ya que soy un apasionado audiófilo.📡 Los Sony WH-1000XM5SA cuentan con Bluetooth 5.2 de tipo multipunto, y esto nos ofrece la posibilidad de cambiar de forma sencilla entre dos dispositivos vinculados a nuestros auriculares al mismo tiempo.📱 La primera vez que sacamos los auriculares de la caja requiere vincularlos con nuestro smartphone u otro dispositivo que cuente con transmisión de sonido por Bluetooth. El emparejamiento con los Sony WH-1000XM5SA sobre un smartphone o tablet la primera vez es realmente sencillo. Basta con activar el Bluetooth en nuestro dispositivo, en mi caso un Samsung Galaxy S23+, y con la ayuda de la app de Sony "Headphones Connect" que previamente habremos descargado, todo estará listo en menos de un minuto para comenzar a usarlos.🔇 El ANC o la cancelación de ruido es muy buena, de las mejores del mercado, sino la mejor. Comenzando por la pasiva, las almohadillas realizan un buen trabajo previo de aislamiento. Si hacemos uso de la activa con la tecnología ANC, resulta bastante efectiva eliminando el ruido persistente que tengamos en nuestro entorno. Contamos con opciones para escuchar el sonido exterior, esto es bastante util en determinados momentos si no queremos aislarnos totalmente del mundo que nos rodea o incluso para entablar conversaciones sin necesidad de quitarnos el auricular de la cabeza. Tambien podemos establecer la cancelación de ruido de forma adaptativa cuando nos detenemos, cuando caminamos, cuando corremos y durante el transporte.🎤 Cuenta con cuatro micros por cada copa, y lo combinan de estos ajusta el aislamiento según el entorno. Y ademas de ayudar con la cancelación de ruido, por supuesto es un elemento imprescindible para realizar llamadas. Las comunicaciones son muy claras y bastante precisas para mantener una comunicación fluida y adecuada, ademas eliminan adecuadamente el ruido del viento cuando golpea sobre las copas del auricular.🎛️ Los auriculares se controlan por medio de controles táctiles en la copa derecha y con varios botones dispuestos en la copa izquierda. Los botones de encendido/apagado y de los modos ANC/Ambient hacen exactamente lo que se espera. Por lo demas estos controles táctiles son idénticos a los gestos que encontramos en el WH-1000XM5 y funcionan de la siguiente manera:• Con un doble toque pausamos y reproducimos la pista.• Deslizando hacia arriba y abajo subimos y bajamos el volumen.• Deslizando hacia adelante y atrás saltamos a otra pista o retrocedemos.• Tapando la copa izquierda con la mano dejamos que entre el sonido ambiente.• Realizando una pulsación larga accedemos al asistente de voz.🔋 La bateria de los auriculares nos ofrece una reproducción musical continua de un máximo de 30 horas con el ANC activado, y de 40 horas si no hacemos uso del ANC. La carga de la bateria al completo no lleva mucho mas de 3 horas de tiempo, y con tan solo 3 minutos de carga rápida tendremos 3 horas de reproducción musical. ¡Absolutamente fantástico! aunque para ello necesitaremos de un adaptador de corriente USB potente de tipo PD.🎵 En cuanto a lo mas importante que es su sonido, primero esta bien conocer que los Sony WH-1000XM5 cuentan con un driver dinámico en cada copa de unos generosos 40 mm, apoyados por el ya conocido procesador integrado V1 de Sony para desarrollar una gran potencia. Ofrecen un gran rendimiento con un sonido con mucha dinámica. Tiene un perfil bastante equilibrado pero divertido ya que añade buena cantidad de agudos y graves.• Los agudos extienden muy bien, con mucho brillo y claridad, pero sin producir molestas sibilancias ni resultar chillones, tampoco producen fatiga tras un largo periodo escuchando música. Tienen muy buena transparencia y son muy reveladores ofreciendo una gran entrega de detalles y ricos matices.• Los medios son neutros, con voces representadas claramente y de forma nítida. Los medios altos tienen un ligero pico que agregan buena intensidad a los instrumentos.• Los graves estan muy bien equilibrados. La cantidad se ofrecen en su justa medida segun el tema que estemos escuchando. Cuando se revelan lo hacen con un buen estruendo e impacto, y articulan muy bien y caen profundos. En general están muy bien controlados y no sangran en las frecuencias medias.• Su escena sonora es amplia, y bastante sorprendente dentro de que son unos auriculares cerrados. Es bastante homogénea en anchura, profundidad y con buena altura. Cuenta con una gran separación instrumental que resulta muy precisa y ubica correctamente los instrumentos en su lugar.• Finalizando con este apartado, la aplicación de Sony ofrece ajustes predeterminados de EQ para variar el perfil, por si deseamos obtener un sonido mas brillante, o aun con mas graves, etc... incluso podemos personalizarlo y encontrar nuestro equilibrio perfecto.⚙️ Los Sony WH-1000XM5SA hacen uso de los codecs de audio SBC y AAC. Pero si vuestro smartphone admite el códec LDAC, que por cierto es propietario de Sony, recomiendo encarecidamente hacer uso de este ya que estos auriculares lo admiten y mejoran un monton respecto a los otros codecs. Lo podemos activar en el apartado de Bluetooth de nuestro smartphone entrando en el ajuste de los Sony (es posible que necesitéis previamente entrar en las opciones de desarrollador de vuestro terminal para activarlo en el sistema). Desgraciadamente para los usuarios de iOS y si no recuerdo mal LDAC no esta disponible, siendo un códec que solo podemos disfrutar los usuarios de Android. Por cierto, el auricular no es compatible con los códecs aptX y aptX HD, pero a los que podamos utilizar LDAC es un detalle que pasaremos por alto.📱 Sobre la app ya mencionada "Sony Headphones Connect", esta nos permite controlar diferentes aspectos y caracteristicas de los auriculares, algunos ya comentados como son los perfiles de EQ (preestablecidos y personalizados), ajustar el ANC y establecer la cancelación de ruido adaptativa, consultar el manual completo, personalizar los gestos, actualizar el firmware, activar el DSEE Extreme (algoritmo de Sony para mejorar archivos de audio con pérdida), configurar los auriculares para "360 Reality Audio", y otras funciones.✅ En resumen, los Sony WH-1000XM5SA son unos auriculares inalámbricos fantásticos. Y no vengo a descubrir sus bondades ya que son exactamente las mismas que las de los Sony WH-1000XM5 a secas. Lo que no acabo de comprender es el sentido que tiene esta versión "SA", y lo que mas hecho en falta respecto a la original es el estuche rígido. Poco mas voy a decir que me encantan y por supuesto los recomiendo.👍 Espero que mis comentarios, sugerencias y fotografías os hayan resultado útiles y de gran ayuda 😇👦 Sobre mi:Me considero melómano y ante todo soy un apasionado audiófilo desde hace varios años. Dispongo de una amplia colección que va desde las gamas mas bajas hasta las gamas mas altas, con mas de 200 auriculares intrauditivos, decenas de auriculares completos y portables de diadema con diafragmas dinámicos y ortodinámicos, gran diversidad de amplificadores y DAC portables y de sobremesa, así como dongles DAC-USB, altavoces, barras de sonido y monitores de estudio.

Servizio Bolo impeccabile con consegna il giorno dopo l'acquisto e prodotto in perfette condizioni.Avevo guardato qualche video su youtube rispetto a cuffie di alta fascia che garantissero comodità e cancellazione del rumore: queste cuffie sono perfette. Le tieni su anche per ore e non senti assolutamente niente (persino in zone affollate come metro di Milano).Consigliatissime

Überraschend starkes Noise Cancelling – klanglich und technisch auf Top-Niveau!

Im Rahmen des Bolo Vine Programms habe ich die „Sony WH-1000XM5 SA kabellose Bluetooth Noise Cancelling Kopfhörer“ bestellt. In meiner Rezension werde ich meine Erfahrungen mit dem Produkt teilen. Ich werde sowohl die positiven, als auch die möglichen negativen Aspekte erwähnen. Meine Bewertung werde ich wie immer ehrlich und fair abgeben.Ich habe mir diese Kopfhörer bestellt, nachdem ich bereits einige Modelle im oberen Preissegment ausprobiert habe – darunter auch die Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3. Ich war gespannt, wie sich dieses Modell von Sony schlägt. Nach mehreren Wochen intensiver Nutzung kann ich sagen: Ich bin positiv überrascht – und das auf mehreren Ebenen.Das herausragendste Merkmal ist für mich ganz klar das Noise Cancelling. Es ist wirklich das beste, das ich bisher gehört habe – sogar noch einen Tick effektiver als bei den PX7 S3. Gerade bei monotonem Umgebungslärm (z. B. im Zug oder im Büro) schafft es das System nahezu vollständige Ruhe. Selbst bei starkem Baustellenlärm im Außenbereich hat das Noise Cancelling bemerkenswert gut gearbeitet und eine fast störungsfreie Klangumgebung geschaffen. Selbst Stimmen werden sehr effektiv gedämpft, was bei vielen anderen Modellen nicht immer der Fall ist. Ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Flug - bisher hatte ich keinen Kopfhörer, der die Geräusche im Flugzeug komplett filtern konnte.Auch klanglich überzeugen die Kopfhörer. Der Sound ist ausgewogen, mit klaren Höhen, gut kontrollierten Mitten und einem druckvollen, aber nicht überzogenen Bass. Wer Wert auf ein möglichst neutrales Klangbild mit gleichzeitig guter Dynamik legt, wird hier fündig. Der Klang bleibt auch bei aktiviertem ANC unverfälscht. Über die Sony Connect App lässt sich der Funktionsumfang der Kopfhörer noch deutlich erweitern. Die App bietet eine Vielzahl an nützlichen Einstellungen: Neben einem anpassbaren Equalizer mit zahlreichen Klangprofilen, besteht auch die Möglichkeit, eigene Sound-Profile zu erstellen, was besonders für anspruchsvolle Hörer interessant ist. Ebenfalls integriert sind 3D-Audio-Funktionen (je nach unterstützter Quelle) sowie die Option, verschiedene Hörszenarien einzustellen. So lässt sich das Hörerlebnis optimieren. Die App könnte etwas übersichtlicher aufgebaut sein aber sie reagiert schnell auf Befehle.Was mich persönlich besonders begeistert hat, ist die „Speak-to-Chat“-Funktion (SA). Sie erkennt automatisch, wenn man zu sprechen beginnt und pausiert dann die Musikwiedergabe. Das funktioniert zuverlässig und macht spontane Gespräche deutlich angenehmer – ohne dass man manuell stoppen oder die Kopfhörer abnehmen muss. Sobald man einige Sekunden nicht mehr spricht, setzt die Wiedergabe automatisch wieder ein. Das ist extrem praktisch im Alltag und zeigt, wie durchdacht das Gesamtkonzept ist. Die Wiedergabe stoppt aber auch, wenn man den Kopfhörer abnimmt oder einen Hörer vom Ohr nimmt.Der Tragekomfort ist hervorragend. Die Ohrpolster sitzen angenehm und ermöglichen auch längeres Hören ohne Druckgefühl. Die Materialien wirken hochwertig, die Verarbeitung ist solide. Die Bedienung ist einfach und die Touch-Steuerung reagiert zuverlässig.Ein kleiner Nachteil ist, dass sich die Kopfhörer nicht zusammenfalten lassen, was den Transport im Gepäck etwas unpraktischer macht. Außerdem war – anders als in einigen Kundenfotos zu sehen – kein Hartschalen-Case im Lieferumfang enthalten. Stattdessen liegt eine weiche aber hochwertige Stofftasche bei. Persönlich finde ich das sogar praktischer, da sie deutlich weniger Platz einnimmt und für meinen Einsatzzweck vollkommen ausreicht. Ich glaube, die Stofftasche liegt nur beim SA „Speak-to-Chat“ Model bei.Was die Akkulaufzeit betrifft, gibt es ebenfalls nichts zu beanstanden – sie hält, was sie verspricht. Die Schnellladefunktion ist ein zusätzlicher Pluspunkt.Zusammenfassend kann ich sagen: Diese Sony-Kopfhörer bieten in ihrer Preisklasse ein überragendes Gesamtpaket. Besonders das Noise Cancelling ist außergewöhnlich stark – und übertrifft meiner Erfahrung nach sogar teurere Konkurrenzmodelle. Wer nach einem vielseitigen, komfortablen und klanglich überzeugenden Kopfhörer sucht, macht hier definitiv nichts falsch. Verdiente 5 Sterne.
