If you put the grille on the outside of your shed / workshop / kitchen, it will suck air in from outside and blow it into the building.I really needed it to work the other way, so I could suck paint fumes out of my workshop and send them outside. If I put the grille on the inside wall, all the guts of the fan would be exposed to outside, including the electrics. I could make some spacers and buy a second grille for the outside, but it was actually easier to just turn the entire motor around inside the duct and take the now-redundant non-return valve off.It's all held together with a few screws, which looks a bit dodgy and probably is. However, it all goes back together to make an extractor fan instead of a blower. For a really professional job I could attach a length of 150mm (not 100 as another reviewer suggests) ducting with a turndown right over the area where I'm painting. I don't really need to, as I don't paint all that often.The airflow is adequate. It's not going to suck all the air out of the workshop and suffocate me, but it's enough to cycle out the fumes in a few minutes.Overall, it's not exactly what I needed, but a bit of tinkering worked wonders. It's doing what I needed it to do and it's good value.

Easy to install, well built and has a good flow.Things that could be improved:The hinged doors to prevent back flow are a little bit flappy when not in use.The power cord could be longer.Having said that, at this price it's a bargain.

I wanted this to create a mini fume cupboard the catch some of the reside from spray painting models. For that it works very well. It pulls enough air out of that small space that it keeps the fumes away from me and I can move my spray painting into the shed rather than waiting for nice days when I would do it outside. You will almost certainly need some 100mm ducting because that is what these are designed for (fortunately I had some left over from previous ventilation projects)The construction is obviously cheap with the thinnest metal panel over the top of this. The side entrance of the mains cable is a little annoying because in most cases you would want the cable to come through the front as you are going to plug this into a wall socket. Fortunately not an issue in my case as a fume cupboard build means running the cable from behind was the better option but, in most cases, taking the cable behind would mean going through the wall!Recommended for hacker project constructions, for which it ideal, not so much recommended for kitchens.

It's easy enough to fit (provided you have the hole already), and all the screws are included, as well as a screwdriver. Instructions say don't put it anywhere it can get wet, and at least 5cm from the ceiling. I'm planning to put it on the dry side of my bathroom after renovations, which is about as steamy as a kitchen, so I'm pretty sure it's still safe. The pipe is 13.4cm, which is enough to get through a single brick wall, although I'm not sure how you'd go about putting it into a greenhouse like the seller images.The fan is metal, it's sturdy, and it looks really professional; much better than the little white plastic one I used to have in my old bathroom. It's wired with a cord, so you can just plug it in and turn it on from there, but the wiring is also easily accessible so it wouldn't be difficult to have someone wire it into a switch. This is good, because the original wire comes from the middle of the pipe? As in, the bit that GOES IN THE WALL. You have to pull it forward and feed it through a little indent in the front of the fan, so it really could have used a longer plug in this case.That said, when it's plugged in, it really works well! This isn't a gentle fan that mildly encourages ventilation, it can absolutely clear out a medium room easily. It's VERY powerful for the price. It also has little flappies on the outside that will prevent drafts getting back in, which is great because the size of the hole is considerable.I'm impressed by how powerful it is, the price is great and it just looks nice. Recommended!

Fitted this in a small kitchen extension and noticed the difference within minutes. Heat and smells cleared out faster than I expected, and it’s quiet enough not to be annoying. The fan housing feels solid, and it didn’t rattle or vibrate against the wall. Been through several cooking sessions now and nothing’s clogged up or slowed down. Also worked well clearing steam from the bathroom during a quick test. The back flap actually stays shut when it’s off, which isn’t always the case with others I’ve tried. No trouble on the wiring side and the unit hasn’t shown any signs of wear. I gave it a proper clean after the first week to check ease of maintenance, and everything came apart without a fight. Simple, effective, no faff.

This FanGoFast hood is a very fast cooking steam generator that takes the air into my kitchen. The fan design is very quiet. The necessary features for wall mounting came in the box. Cleaning is very easy, the fan can be removed, grease deposits are easily removed. It is available for bathrooms and garages. I definitely recommend it for its quiet operation, powerful air parts and components.
