Once you are in the middle of the 6-7 minute installation after following the on screen prompts to fill the ink etc. (the printer goes off and does various initial "Things"), scan the QR code in the instructions which will then provide further instructions that you will need at the end of the onscreen instructions. This includes (on my iPhone anyway) auto-joining the WI-FI that your mobile is already using.If you do this, 8 minutes later and you will have a fully functional printer connected to your network. Much easier than HP.

This seems like an excellent product let down by poor setup instructions. Finally ditching expensive ink jet cartridges is a relief.The box contains one A5 sheet titled Setup Instructions that provides no instructions, only a QR code. So to get anywhere you need a smartphone with internet connection. When you retrieve the instructions they only set up my iPhone to print. Setting up laptop requires a completely different process, downloading a "Master Setup" file and running this.Canon this setup procedure is simply not good enough.

Why isn't there a "Quick Setup Guide" in the box? Instead there's a piece of paper with a QR code or web address which takes you to webpage which wants you to download a program from the Microsoft Store (don't do this).I've worked in IT for 20 years so I just went through the setup procedure on the device screen itself to install the print heads, fill the ink tanks and connect to WiFi. I then googled "Canon G3590 setup" which takes you to a page which tries to play 12 different YouTube videos at the same time. Ignore all of these and just click on the "Driver" link to install the driver on your PC and set it to the default printer.I'm so annoyed that big companies like Canon have utterly failed to make things easier for the average user.The printer itself is good.

My nine-year old Canon printer picked a great time to clap out. This all-in-one printer was highly rated by a well known consumer organisation. A special price on Bolo, a £30 cash back from Canon, next day delivery - a choice of one.Has all the functions I needed including auto double-sided printing.Highly delighted so far with all functions and quality, including 7x5 glossy prints.Highly recommended.SETUP. I agree with Charlie Brown re setup (elsewhere in these reviews). There are lots of bits of paper in the box in multi languages, but the setup page is terrible, especially for those of us of the sliver generation who require simple instructions. Even the QR code took me to step 4 of 4!All it needed was: take the printer out of the box (always a good start), remove the orange tapes, connect the power cable and plug in. Now press the power-on button on the front of the printer and follow the on-screen instructions. It's that easy!!

This was bought to replace an Epson Ecotank printer. The Epson printer's paper feed tray was broken. In theory it should have been an easy fix, but the printer and housing are flimsy and i just couldn't get the paper aligned.This Canon printer was a breeze. Similar design but feels sturdier. Had no issues printing using the official drivers on Linux. Wi-fi just works, following the prompts on the printer's tiny LCD. Prints from the phone app as well. The specs say that the print heads are user replaceable, which is an advantage over the Epson ones. Overall, happy with the product.

Purchased this printer based on some research and primarily from Which Magazine, and I was not disappointed. The only fault I could see was the installation instructions, but after around an hour I managed it.I am very happy with it

Bought a brand new one, not the “like new” one, delivered within 2 days. But the box was opened and resealed on delivery, the printer is with used scratches and marks as well, returned without using it. Disappointed.

This printer is very good in most tasks, the features are very good, scan to smartphone is very neat and quick and scan to computer excellent..photo quality is very very good on new photos from a phone..old photos scanned not so great as you do have to send to computer and adjust accordingly, Ink usage is the best ever....say goodbye to cartridge based printers...this is brilliant. and excellent value as some higher end tank ink printers are over £500...
