Even as a Nest lover these are very expensive for the size. Very.At approx $144 for a set of 3 they're around $50 each and the size of these is only a tad taller than 1/2 a bottle of 16.9 oz water. The size is about 4" tall and at the top the diameter is 3.5" tapering down to the bottom measurement of 2.5". The glass is pretty and alternates between a translucent stripe and a clear stripe on the clear glass container to make it a striped container. It's pretty but its not cut glass or anything remarkable that would make you compelled to keep it and reuse it after the candle had burned down. The glass also has the brand on it.Our favorite of these 3 is the Grapefruit. The smell is clean, citrusy, not fake smelling nor overly scented, and just pleasant. My husband has always favored lemon, citrus, grapefruit smells so its no wonder he likes this one so much. I placed it on a shelf near the tub and sometimes you can even catch a faint pleasant whiff of it when it hasn't even been lit for several days.These are pricey compared to most candles on the market however these, in my opinion, are no mall store candles. They have a story behind them that adds to the allure. The scents are more curated and the candles are longer lasting.One thing I've loved for years about Nest fragrances is if you find a scent you especially appreciate you can also get most of the scents in a hand soap, lotion, many times fragrance, and/or things like diffuser sets. These make excellent gifts for the "boojee" or wanna look "boojee" folks - as long as you know your recipient is not averse to scents - and many people are nowadays. I don't mean that derogatory (the boujee/boujie bit) but these are for impressing someone. Especially possibly for the woman who lives a life of luxury and already has everything she needs and has plenty of disposable income. I'd want to make sure if I gave these to someone that they at least knew a little about Nest so I'd be sure they'd appreciate being given one and not just stick it in a candle drawer with some other candles to burn like any other and think you just gave them a gift candle. These would be an extra special gift for an anniversary or Valentines day from a man to his wife/girlfriend or mom/sister.The Nest scents are more complex and global than your ordinary Vanilla, Linen, Pumpkin Spice, and Cotton. Seriously, nothing against those but if you've smelled one you've smelled them all. These instead are more like what you'd smell when you walk in a luxury hotel, or while relaxing at a spa, or when walking past a beautifully dressed woman at a restaurant. I find that these candles don't "hit you in the face" when you walk in the room, rather they wrap the scent around you (even when they aren't lit!!) as you sit in a room doing whatever and you find yourself some time later thinking "what IS that - that smells so good?" It's that kind of candle scent.I was fortunate enough to receive these Nest candles as a Vine reviewer and am super appreciative since I have been a follower of Nest fragrances for many years now. My review is my honest take on the smell, appearance, size, gift-ability, and performance of the candles. Hope this helps you decide if they are for you.

High end, luxury candles

I keep nice candles in the house but have never splurged on Nest candles for myself before. These are top of the line, high end, luxury through and through. I wanted to try them but I hoped I wouldn't love them. I am a hundred percent sold...ughh! I'll be putting these on every gift list for myself and others going forward, because they are absolutely worth it! Here's what you need to know:- In the three pack each is completly individual so can be gifted separately, or you can keep a couple for yourself!- Of the three scents the grapefruit is the most popular, for good reason. I thought my stand out would be the sea salt...and I do love it. My surprise hit was the bamboo! It's subtle, and unique. All scents just have that indescribable factor you get at resorts or luxury hotels that have signature scents.- The scent is very long lasting. I burn a candle in my open plan living/kitchen/dining room with high ceilings for a couple of hours in the afternoon and the scent lasts for the entire evening. It has a wonderful relaxing feeling, without being overwhelming.- I keep the wick trimmed to make sure they burn evenly with and cleanly with no waste. I've been really pleased.if you're paying for a quality product you want to get a fair value, an elevated experience. I'm so happy with these Nest candles and am excited to try other scents.

Smells great but not sure about value, YMMV

First, let me say I'm new to the Nest brand but did recently try their orange perfume fragrance & it is DELICIOUS! Not in the food sense, just like I want to sit & sniff it like I did with cement glue in 5th grade.Anyway, I have never owned or tried their candles before so I wasn't really sure what to expect from a 3-pack of candles currently sold at retail price of $144, but it certainly was more than this. Now, another disclaimer on my opinion: I would not consider myself part of Nest's target customer demographic. I don't shop in stores like Nordstrom, Saks or Macy's. I really only decided to try these because of their perfume.That said, if YOU might be shopping in one of those stores, find a very-good smelling candle & put in your basket without blinking at the price tag - you can stop reading: BUY THESE! You won't be disappointed!! But if you struggle to justify spending more than $10 on a candle, you'll want to consider the rest of this:1. Smell: right out of the box, they DO have strong scents that all smell amazing! One has hints of grapefruit citrus , one has earthy tones & the other is a strong floral, though not overwhelmingly so.2. Packaging: the candles came in individual boxes, as shown in the listing pics. However, I was surprised to see how the set came - just the 3 boxes wrapped together in cellophane shipping wrap. It's possible they have different packaging for stores vs online because I could not see that flying on the shelf of any major retailer that carries the brand.3. Container: another surprise- lids were not included, just plastic toppers. If I'm spending over $40 for a candle, I'd want to be able to preserve the scent as much as possible when not lit. Part of the reason for that may be because the candles are in what I'd consider "basic" votive candle jars, which usually do not come with lids due to the upward flared design. As is, I could sit one next to a candle bought at Walgreens & you'd not be able to tell the difference.4. Size / longevity: The smells are lovely, no doubt! But I'm struggling to discern any difference between these & say, a Yankee Candle. Except these are smaller & nearly 2x pricier. The burn time and how far the scent carries seem to be the same.I really, really wanted to be able to praise these candles on high, as I did their perfume. Unfortunately, these just don't meet the criteria to be a solid 'yes' for me. So for the frugally-inclined like myself, these would have to be severely discounted for me to recommend. 75% off? YES, jump on it! Anything more, I'd be much happier with 2 3-wick candles from Yankee or B&BW.

Expensive but Worth It

I have previously purchased Nest brand candles for myself before as a birthday splurge and I was SO pleased to be able to get these Nest candles to try out. These are not scents I would normally have chosen but like all the other Nest scents they are amazing. The grapefruit is my favorite as it smells exactly like a grapefruit tastes. Second favorite is Bamboo because it is lightly floral without being too sweet, and third is the Ocean Mist and Sea Salt. I don't have a reference to compare this to but it smells lovely.I learned early on with the Nest candles to use these without burning for a period of time. For me at least, burning a Nest candle immediately produces waaaaay too strong of a scent. They absolutely will smell up the entire house but the room in which I burn the candle cannot be entered because the candle scent is so strong. I have consistently had this experience with these candles and this set is the same. That's great, actually, because I have learned to put the open candles in separate rooms unburnt for about a month and they scent up the room very nicely. After about a month the essential oils(?) have evaporated enough that I can happily burn the candles and they have an acceptable level of scent. I count this as lasting even longer than the advertised burn time of 50-60 hours since I get an extra month out of each candle! And, by the way, every one of these candles I have gotten has burned for at least 50 hours.I know these are expensive but they are amazing on the aroma front. If you're looking for a luxurious splurge or a serious housewarming gift (if you can convince yourself not to keep these for yourself), you have found it.

Everything they Claim to be and More!!!!

When I first saw the cost of these candles (designer or not) I wondered if they had Gold Inlay. It only took a moment though once they arrived to find out they were a good value for the cost. Everything the listing said they would do they did and more. The scents were amazing and so realistic they didn't seem like candles. The scent never went away, it was vibrant and full every time the candle was lit. Which brings me to burn time which is a biggie. They truly burn and burn for many many hours. Given their size it seems like magic. I am in love with these candles and I highly recommend!!
