5.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected
I was really skeptical when buying these, I needed my room acoustically treated and bought these. I thought it was going to be a lot of work and time waiting for these to expand from the vacuum sealed bag but they popped out instantly, only having to pinch the corners a few times. One problem I faced - but its not just with this product. Not many things stick to these, and if you use glue its going to leave a lot of the foam behind. What I did was buy small nails and just nailed the panels to the wall - allowing me to easily move them when needed.Perfect
5.0 out of 5 stars Soundproofed our gaming room
We put these on the inside of my son's gaming room door- 2 packs was enough - and some hexagonal panels on the wall. Together they have reduced the noise do much that my noise sensitive daughter is no longer troubled at all. An absolute Godsend!
4.0 out of 5 stars Sorry, say again??
THEY ARE REALLY GOOD AT SOUNDPROOFING!! The self adhesive is a but hit and miss on certain materials but nothing a little spray adhesive can't fix!!
1.0 out of 5 stars Irregular shaped. Poor quality
Very irregular. About a third of the three packs of panels I bought had irregular shaped foam. Some of the panels were only about 1mm thick on one side and the correct 1.5 inch on the opposite edge.
5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, excellent form
24 panels measuring 12" x 12" x 1.2" completely changed the acoustics of my room. Installation was incredibly easy. Thanks to their self-adhesive nature, I was able to mount them directly on the wall without the need for additional adhesive materials. I don't know what will happen if I want to remove the strong adhesives. The foam material seems solid and durable. There is no unpleasant smell. The packaging was good, all panels reached me without damage. I recommend.
3.0 out of 5 stars Hit and miss
I’ve ordered multiple packs of these over the last few months and to start with they were great.I always let them expand for 24 hours after releasing them from their vacuum sealed bags, which for the most part was perfect and I got most of my room covered. Then the packaging changed and I kept getting packs that were double sealed and extremely squashed which even after a few days never recovered to their original shape.I had to return a few packs and just kept ordering hoping I got some decent ones to finish my room. They look amazing once up, but it was stressful messing about returning the squashed ones and hoping to get some better ones back to complete the rest of my room.At least they work and my room is now nice and dead.
2.0 out of 5 stars If you want to be sure spray extra glue on before putting in place.
They great and look ok on the wall, but a week after putting 24 tiles up 7 have come off plus 4 more are starting to lift . Sure I can spray more glue on but at the price they were I would expect them to stay stuck on clean surfaces them selves.
5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome
These sound proofing panels offer an impressive solution for anyone looking to reduce noise and enhance sound quality in their space. These foam panels are lightweight, easy to install, and come with a self-adhesive backing that eliminates the need for additional glue or hardware. One of the standout features of these panels is their effectiveness at soundproofing. Whether you're using them in a recording studio or office, these panels do a great job of absorbing sound and reducing echo. The foam material works well to minimize external noise, making them ideal for spaces where sound clarity is crucial. They also help with noise isolation, which is great for keeping conversations private in shared spaces.Aesthetically, the panels have a clean, modern look that can blend into various room designs. Available in a neutral color, they can easily match different wall colours and interior styles without drawing too much attention. The panels are cut into a classic wedge design, which is not only visually appealing but also enhances their sound-absorbing properties. However, while they perform well in many environments, it's important to note that the level of soundproofing may not be sufficient for very high levels of noise, such as heavy industrial sounds. For average noise reduction, though, they work exceptionally well. Additionally, some users may find that the adhesive backing loses its stickiness over time, particularly if the panels are moved or repositioned frequently.
Easy to install, work well
These sound proof panels are easy to install and do a good job of sound proofing. The size is great for covering walls in an organized manner. Overall, I'm very pleased with them!
Not much recommend
I got the 36 pieces pack, i don't think I've selected the good brand or type. You have to get double face patches to stick amd mount on the walls. I got 3m stickers although many of the pieces have fallen out. Recommend the ones come with self adhesive.
Big Sound Upgrade: These Acoustic Panels Really Work!
Got this 24-pack of acoustic panels for my home studio, and I’m really impressed. They made a big difference right away — cutting down echo and making the room sound clearer and less “boomy.”They’re lightweight and easy to put up with adhesive strips, and the panels themselves look clean and modern on the wall. Plus, the 24-pack covers quite a bit of space, so it’s great value for the price.Overall, super happy with how they improved my recording quality and even my daily listening experience. Definitely recommend if you want better sound without spending a fortune!
Excellent Form, Function and Appearance for the Cost
Ok, there is a lot to unpack when it comes to some of the negative things that others have had to say in regards to these tiles. The one thing that most people do not seem to understand is that tiles like this ARE NOT SOUND BLOCKING! They are meant only to absorb echoes in an environment. In my case, these were installed with the idea of toning down the room a bit. I run a couple of industrial lasers that require supporting equipment like a water chiller, air compressor and more than one fume extraction fans. All combined add up quickly decibel wise and the tiles do an excellent job of quieting the environment just by removing the echoes so I only hear the original source of the noise and not it bouncing off everything else and hitting my ears milliseconds later. These tiles are not a “Silver Bullet”, but they are darn close. I have tried other sound dampening tiles and found them to be inferior in performance and a pain in the *ss to install with the sub-par adhesive squares that come with them, and just plain look like crap (I have a whole contractor’s garbage bag full of them now because they are that bad). The foam on these was a bit odoriferous at first, but dissipated quickly. Expansion of the tiles after removing them from the vacuum packs was almost instantaneous and were usable within 3-5 minutes and the density is far superior to other tiles I have tried. For installing these, I DID NOT use adhesive or tape. Since they were going over drywall the most secure way that I found to mount them was using a pair of Lineman’s pliers to push in 1” long round top blued nails (5 per tile). They are invisible once seated unless you look for them and they do not compress the foam and distort, thus degrade the function of, the tiles like staples from a staple gun will. Using the nails also made it exceedingly easy to remove the tiles for repositioning when needed due to installer error ;-)For my first installation, I covered the ceiling of the area where my machinery that makes the most noise resides. The floor was then covered with ¾” thick rubber stall mats which are also great for deadening noise reflections (echoes). Some have commented that my current 12’ X 11’ area is creepy in the fact that once they enter it, the normal echoes that we are all used to hearing almost disappear (this can cause discomfort/disorientation for some since they are something the brain uses for spatial cues).Would I buy these again, absolutely! Actually I already did, I’m just waiting for them to arrive so I can start installing them in the rest of the Shop ;-)Yes, I did get some dud tiles (mashed due to the manufacturing process, packing, whatever) as others mentioned, I just set these aside and used them when partial tiles were called for. In the end, it worked out just fine and the loss due to defective tiles was minimal at best (no tiles were a total loss).Just the tiles on the ceiling alone made an immediate difference, when coupled with the flooring the effect was far beyond my expectations! I cannot wait to tile the other two thirds of the ceilings when the rest of the tiles I ordered arrive.
Well-performing budget panels
I'm using these panels to isolate fan noise from a home datacenter from my living space. And they work quite well, far better than egg cartons ever did! That's really all there is to say; they work well for the price, and if you want to deaden a room for whatever reason or isolate the sound from between areas, they do the job. Some panels, even after 24+ hours, did not expand properly, but gently pulling on them caused them to expand with no adverse affects, so keep this in mind. The manual does say you can soak the panels to help, but I really didn't want to deal with soaking and then potentially days of drying, so I prefer my solution.
