My daughter is dyslexic and has lost the sheets she used when at university.She says that it is a shame that there are not more of the large sheets as the green is not quite the right shade for her while one of the small ones is the right shade but a bit awkward to use. She says it would be easier to manoever if it were the same size as a bookmark - or paperback size.The line is very useful.The big ones are good for non-fiction.She says that what would be really useful would be to get multiple sizes in the colour you need.This pack would be really good if you don't know which colour will suddenly make text look a lot sharper as you can try the different ones. However it doesn't have every colour in as there isn't her alternate colour, grey.

I am (continuing) to teach my child to read at home.I have an impression that he is becoming confused with 'finding' the word he is supposed to read.It seems like he sees a jumble of words, and easily loses his position in the sentence.Previously (to help) I was pointing at the word, and covering up other nearby words with my fingers.This reading overlay with stripe allows my child to more easily concentrate on the word in question.Also, using both the strip and my fingers, I can still cover up the words ahead.I'm not totally sure yet, but the reading stripe does appear to help.There are 3 large A4 sheets (blue / green / yellow), and 8 smaller coloured strips with a line (see photos).The 8 smaller strips are available in most colours of the rainbow. Maybe let the child choose which colour they prefer.The listing photo seems to indicate that there is a protective film on both sides of the strips, but I can only find one.I will continue to use over the coming days, to get a clearer impression of how useful it is.I don't know whether these stripes are a 'validated tool' used in dyslexia. I suspect not.While reading about this subject, I note that it is believed that in dyslexia & autism, there is over-sensitivityto the high contrast of black on white, and that by reducing the contrast, it may become easier and lessvisually taxing on the brain to read. Nevertheless, I also note in clinical trials that children reading withfiltres and without filtres have no significant difference in the speed of their reading.It seems to be a subject without firm answers or recommendations.Your best bet seems to be try these out, and see if it appears to help you.I will update this review if I get any new insights over the coming days and weeks.
