Good for fine motor skills. This was perfect. My son who is 6 sat down with us and pulled out all the dragons and pirate ship and stuck jewels on by hand without the tool. This kept them both occupied together for a good half hour, plus the fun of picking up all the jewels carefully and quietly to put away in a ziplock (with occasional fight over who gets the jewels to put away). :)First I thought there are not too many spots for jewels… true, an an older child might want more, but it was actually perfect for a you g child to complete without it getting too tedious. My 2 year old did two in the time my 6 year old sped through 5.
Rainy day activity let down :(
The design pages are very pretty however the applicator with wax squares didn’t work. Luckily the pages are sticky so they could still pick up the gems with their hands and apply to pages. Additionally, the gem colors don’t fully match pages. For example, one design calls for pink gems however no pink gems are provided. Only red. I got these for some independent play options and instead spent my time having to tell my child to use different colors since the right colors weren’t provided. Given 3 stars because we are making work what we got but wished it all worked how it was suppose to.
Almost perfect
Easy for my 4 and 5yo to do, but wish they were a bit more intricate color guides on the photos. So thankful the gems are separated by color, but that doesn’t last for long since the bags are connected and not resealable. The Pom poms are not separated by color which would be nice. I recommend putting the gems/poms on a plate for the child so they don’t get knocked around. The spots are only sticky in the place that a gem or pom goes, so they can’t do too many which I appreciate!
