5.0 out of 5 stars more than 2731 Watts to the wo'ah
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } I ran a boiling test. Here's the data:volume: just a smidge over 1.8 Lstarting temp: 13Ctime duration until rolling boil: 4 minutes (240s) (beeping takes a few more seconds)elevation here is not high enough to matter given the somewhat fuzzy definition of "done"(100C - 13C) * 1800mL * 4.1868J/calorie / (4 minutes * 60s) == 2731.887WSo that's >= 2731 Watts power from the kettle into the water, not accounting for losses to escaping steam, losses to the air around the kettle, or heating of the kettle itself. The wattage from the wall would be higher than 2731W. I didn't measure it directly, but it could plausibly be ~3000W at 240V.This was using a dedicated circuit (aka "dedicated radial circuit"?) that generally measures right around 240V, though I didn't measure circuit voltage while running the kettle. In contrast, a 120V "kettle" on a "broken radial circuit" is relatively pointless, but y'all already knew that.Other observations (more subjective):The ring of LED light is nice, and the white, red, and green colors all look nice.If there's a relay in this thing, it's pretty quiet. The beeping is short and to the point at a reasonable volume. The keep-warm feature is automatically on after heating, and clearly indicated by LEDs green. Picking up the kettle, the keep-warm disables, as the light is back to white when the kettle is put back down. One can hit the ON button again if keep-warm is desired after pouring. When boiling a more normal amount of water, the time to boiling is low enough that I haven't felt the need for keep-warm after pouring so far. The keep-warm until poured is nice. The keep-warm re-heating is tuned to get the water up to barely boiling and stop again, so it's not aggressively re-boiling the water each time, though it is audible - just pretty much over by the time you hear it, so not worrying. The LED stays on for just a little while when lifting the kettle; slightly longer than I'd expect. This seems to correlate with the decent build quality overall. The UI is no-nonsense and obvious.I've had no issues so far refilling with cold (~13C) water after having just boiled and poured, though I do always aim for the middle of the metal bottom to give the cold water some mixing with hot water before it hits the glass. I figure it can't hurt. The lid has a nice amount of tension (not too much, not too little), and seems less likely to break than typical push-button flip-up lids. The lid is easy to remove quickly and hold between two fingers while operating the tap for refilling - the tension is just right for getting your hand away from any lingering steam all at once. The lid being on limits the pouring rate to a reasonable-seeming rate. It seems plausible to modify the lid to allow faster pouring rate by putting some small notches or angled holes way out near the edges of the lid (to avoid scalding though the holes) - but the pouring rate seems fine as-is. I haven't tried pouring without the lid on - it's nice that the lid makes pouring safely a no-brainer before caffeine.Overall this thing seems well-thought-out and not a first draft. The wattage indicated on the box is a range up to 3000W at 240V, depending on input voltage. Lower input voltage will result in lower wattage, but that's true for any kettle.
5.0 out of 5 stars This is a beautiful looking kettle, that works beautifully
Brilliant, smart looking, superfast boil, love the dancing blue light when it’s boiling, it’s robust and registering your guarantee is easy, I’m chuffed to beans, and I know I made a good choice with Chefman.
4.0 out of 5 stars Stylish, Quick-Boiling Kettle—Almost Perfect!
**Stylish, Quick-Boiling Kettle—Almost Perfect!**This Chefman Electric Kettle has quickly become one of my kitchen favourites. It boils water incredibly fast thanks to the powerful 3000W heating element, perfect for hurried mornings or a quick tea break. The clear borosilicate glass body not only looks sleek and modern on my countertop but also makes it easy to see how much water I'm boiling, helping avoid waste.Cleaning is straightforward due to the removable lid—no more awkward angles or tricky cleaning rituals! Plus, the auto shut-off and boil-dry protection offer peace of mind, especially on busy or forgetful days.My only slight niggle is the noise level; it's a tad louder than expected during boiling, though this really isn't a deal-breaker given the kettle’s performance.Overall, it's a high-quality kettle that's both practical and stylish, and I'd happily recommend it.
5.0 out of 5 stars Best kettle...
Replaced a bosch. Way better and was cheaper too. Quiet boil, easy to fill, clear kettle so you can see at a glance how full it is which is useful, looks good in kitchen and doesn't take up much space. Keep warm feature great, love the coloured boiling indicator lights too. Very happy with this product!
5.0 out of 5 stars What a great kettle 👌🏻
Update: April 2025 - Slight minuses: 1) base wobbles too much, switches itself off sometimes, defo could be built more sturdily and 2) filter obstructs a smooth pour and 3) will keep re-boiling to 100 degrees if left to stand, using electricity. Nevertheless we all like the kettle, just usage observations.February 2025: After two false starts with two different and more expensive kettles that were less than even just ‘good’ bought this one and we really really like it. Lift off lid, quiet, stable, quick boil, 2.8l max if needed, varied temperature choice, and illuminated. Red light when on boil which turns to green when reached either 100 degrees or chosen temp from 70 degrees upwards, and afterwards when you’ve poured your water into your tea or coffee mug or whatever and place it back on its base it switches to a white light. It’s a cheerful little thing on a dark morning ☺️
5.0 out of 5 stars Solid quality temperature variable kettle
Exactly as advertised. I enjoy the indicators lights (white for on, red for heating, green for ready) and the 5c increments for heating for tea. Also happy it tells you the current temp as it’s cooling down. Very durable. Lid fully pops off, I thought I didn’t like the but it made sense for the attachment of the tea infuser. Brewing a whole pot of tea works great, though I’d have preferred a steeping alert since sometimes I forget it.It IS a bit heavier of a kettle so if your wrists want a lighter one, this wouldn’t be recommended.Easy to clean.
5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
Looks good, light to lift and boil's efficently. Really good buy.
4.0 out of 5 stars Great kettle. Quiet. quick. no drip. Temp control not 100%
So far this is a great kettle. Quiet, quick, easy to use and pours very well. temp is not 100 % accurate and can go hotter than selected but so far it’s my favourite kettle in a while. I don’t use the removable loose leaf filter in the kettle but it’s also very handy and I just use that in a cup. Hopefully the kettle will last.
Strange fact about the auto shutoff for the highest temperaure setting
(function() { P.when('cr-A', 'ready').execute(function(A) { if(typeof A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel === 'function') { A.toggleExpanderAriaLabel('review_text_read_more', 'Read more of this review', 'Read less of this review'); } }); })(); .review-text-read-more-expander:focus-visible { outline: 2px solid #2162a1; outline-offset: 2px; border-radius: 5px; } This is a great upgrade from my previous model, which, after a lot of years, was leaking where the glass met the top. The auto shutoff at various temperatures is a big improvement. There is one strange problem, though. The auto shutoff for the highest temp (212F) doesn't work. My old model would shut off near this temp, when the water was at a rolling boil. I tested the four other auto shutoff temps on the new model, and they worked fine. I also tested the "boil dry" shutoff, and it worked. I suspect the problem is my elevation of 3200ft above sea level. A calculator I found online said water should boil at 206F with my current pressure and elevation. I measured the temperature of the boiling water in the unit and got 208F. Pretty close considering I used a meat thermometer. I am guessing that because the water didn't reach 212, the auto shutoff for this temp was never reached. Since the "boil dry" worked ok, I think the unit is fine. With the old one, I had to guess when to turn it off so I didn't have to wait for the tea to cool down enough to drink. I would absolutely recommend this product, but just be aware of the possible problem with the highest temperature auto shutoff. By the way, I worked in the weather business for 13 years, so I know a bit about temperature and pressure measurements and effects.
Perfect
Literally love this kettle. The only thing is that the steeper isn’t going down deep enough into the machine, which means if I want to brew coffee, I have to brew a whole pot of coffee or else the water won’t reach the coffee grinds in the filter as well as tea if I want to brew tea, I have to brew two or three bags at a time in order for the tea to reach the water. Can’t just make one cup, which is kind of annoying other than that the kettle is great. And beautiful the lights are cute. It works really fast. The water boils extremely quickly. I find the ability to hide this cord in a circle underneath the plate is also a nice feature. It says on my counter and stops me from having to worry about getting knocked over people have said that the kettle is wobbly while it’s on the plate, but that’s only because the plate is light and when there’s no water in the kettle, it isn’t really wobbly. It’s just not securely flat because of the cord being on the bottom, it would be impossible for it to be flat but when there’s water in the kettle, there’s nothing it’s not wobbly at all. If you’re worried about a wobbly kettle, don’t leave water on the pot after a boil take it off and put it on the counter. It could be warm the glasses warm the handle is not warm so when you have boiled water and you wanna take it off the plate so it’s not wobbly just put it on top of a pot holder. Delivery came fast by the way. As well, you might wanna consider buying the one that’s like new condition they state that you might not get a box or packaging, but I got everything that everybody else gets. I checked online the box the wrapping, and the it was not sealed yet it looked new. Perfect condition and I got money off for because it was opened already.
Chefman Electric 1.8L Kettle
Chefman electric kettle gives a faster boil making hot liquids sooner. Top comes off when not in use rather than a lip up lids on other models.
boils water fast with virtually no noise at all. Amazingly fast and almost silent!
WOW! I buy a lot on Bolo but I don't leave a lot of reviews. This product however, is such an incredible value, and is so very very excellent that I feel obligated to take the time to explain why it is so very very VERY good.I was traveling last week and I needed a teapot in my hotel room, and I went to Walmart and bought a "Chessman" all metal teapot for around $27 plus tax. To my surprise I discovered that it heated water faster than any other teapot I have ever owned, but more important it was nearly silent. (In the past year I have purchased three glass teapots on Bolo, one for around $25 and two more for around $50, and they are all acceptable but when boiling water they make a very loud noise like a rushing waterfall. It is hard to hear the TV or music when it is operating. Just now I boiled three full pots of water in this new Chefman glass teapot. I was absolutely stunned to discover that it makes NO NOISE AT ALL. All you hear is the "click" when it is finished boiling the water. And my subjective view is that it boils at least twice as fast as the previous three glass teapots I had purchased on Bolo. What's more, this Chefman glass teapot only costs around $23 (as of April 11, 2025 with a 15% Bolo discount). Apparently this is a well known brand and has a reputation for fast boiling times. But no review mentioned the noise level. I think it is a very big deal, and if you want to boil. water this is your choice. If you have ever heard a teapot making a noise when operating, you will be amazed the first time you use this teapot. I cannot give it a high enough rating. - followup after one week - it has started making a small amount of noise when boiling - but orders of magnitude less than the other glass teapot I've owned.. I am ordering another one today. a really good product. Hmmm, a further follow up - I just discovered that if you boil white distilled vinegar in your teapot it significantly reduces the noise a teapot makes when water is boiling. I haven't quantified it yet, but objectively it is 1/4th as loud after boiling vinegar. This Chefman is still quieter, but the difference is not as great as I originally thought. The Chefman remains a tremendous value - it is 1/2 the price of some other brands and boils much faster and starts of nearly silently. And now I know I can maintain the sounds of silence with vinegar.
