I'm using it as a separate nvme SSD mounted in the m.2-2 slot of the pc.I have a 500gb Evo 970 plus running windows 11.Windows doesn't need 2TB and for now 500GB is enough. Games can need a lot of space and loading times are much better with a sata m.2, let alone a nvme m.2 like this 990. The extra speed of this device that I'm not experiencing is neither here nor there as the £120ish price is good value IMHO.I have also purchased another for a friend at £114 after another nvme of another manufacturer seems to have failed. Left with a HDD to run the pc from was very laggy. Now with this nvme SSD the pc is much more responsive. That pc has windows and games running from this one drive and perform ls well.Samsung magician can be helpful to monitor Samsung drives, as can crystal disk info to monitor this drive and others.I have also installed a cooler for it, it may not need it at these speeds but it looks and operates in cool fashion.

Got this as an extra storage boot drive for my Mac mini and use it with my MacBook Air as well, no faffing around with two different drives. Great quality and great speed as well.

In my opinion, the Sansung Evo range are amongst the best asSDs on the market and this evo990 2tb replaces a 1tb evo980 that has served my Gaming rig for many years.I was able to quickly clone my old drive onto the new one, using a seperate product and software and the new one booted up instantly on installation and has functioned perfectly since.Price and performance meet perfectly in this drive. Highly recommend this and anything in the Samsung Evo range.Check with your motherboard is compatible, but my Z390 worked with it no issues. Older boards with nvme m.2 slots may need bios updates.Note that some older boards have sata m.2 slots not compatible with nvme m.2 and your could damage your drive if you try and put one in the wrong slot.From experience with an older mbs you can get PCIE adpaters so you can connect your modern nvme m.2 drive via a spare pcie lane so you get the same blistering data transfer speeds. A bios update to the mb may be needed.

I used this drive to replace the 256GB one in a samsung Galaxy Book 2 and boy what a difference it makes. Because it uses less power the temp of the laptop is now a lot lower and the speed difference is great.

Cloned a 500Gb boot drive to a 2Tb without a glitch. You’re buying into the Samsung Magician software with these drives as much as the hardware. Both are top notch pieces of kit. Highly recommended.

Guardando le immagini e/o foto su Bolo o web non sembrava così piccolo. Appena aperta la scatola sono rimasto a bocca aperta. Inserito in un case della UGREEN con velocità di trasmissione a 10Gbps neanche sembra di utilizzarlo come unità esterna. Per poterlo collegare anche al mio vecchio Macbook Pro 13" Mid 2012 ho acquistato un adattatore da USB-C a USB-A con velocità di trasferimento fino a 5Gbps. Credo che l'unione dei tre prodotti sia la combinazione migliore in termini di prezzo, affidabilità e qualità.Le memorie SSD Samsung sono una vera garanzia, stavo optando per un'altra marca ma poi sono ritornato sulla retta via ed ho acquistato questo prodotto che, anche se appena utilizzato, risulta veramente ottimo. Qaulche anno fa acquistai un SSD Crucial (adoperato per il sistema operativo) che ad oggi risulta lento e per lavorare sul vecchio Macbook mi fa snervare, cosa che non accade con un SSD Samsung acquistato nel 2017 (che di scritture e letture ne ha viste molte di più) e ad oggi colelgato come unità esterna risulta ancora molto reattivo e prestante (l'unica pecca e averlo acquistato da 256Gb ma in quel periodo del resto costavano molto e non potevo permettermi la capienza maggiore).Che altro agigungere... ah ecco, 712Gb di dati trasferiti in circa 42min, a dir poco favoloso.Consiglio vivamente l'acquisto.
