At the time of this review this ‘set’ of pickle balls is just over £7Indoor and outdoor pickle balls are differentIndoor are softer, bounce less and have fewer holes.These are technically outdoor balls, harder, more bounce , more holes and smaller holes, denser plastic less affected by wind when playing outdoors.I have been playing for a few months and our ‘ coach’ tells us that in the USA they now use ‘ Franklin ‘ brand outdoor balls for their competitions over there.These balls weigh 26gI have played with a few different coloured balls red, yellow, white and green, never blue, will have to give them a try .Update -Took them to our Pickleball event and had the coach take a look at these balls.These seem perfectly okay but some people can get a bit fussy/choosy about what balls they play with..These are classed as outdoor balls but as I mentioned earlier, more official events are using the harder outdoor balls for tournaments .These balls weigh 2g more than indoor balls.It is noticeable how much heavier the weight difference makes to playing with 24g vs 26g.My ‘coach’ says they would certainly be helpful to train with before a tournament or event as we don’t play routinely with outdoor balls. Does beg the question why ? Perhaps that will change in the short to medium term and we will all play with the same balls..If you are thinking about buying some for recreational play i hope the review is helpfulFurther update - as a group we played with the red one for an hour 1/2 and the red ball split down the seem, that is poor , balls normally crack near a hole if they are well made, not down the seem
